Reviews on South American food in Ollantaytambo, Cusco Region, Peru. Ollantaytambo has some of the oldest continuously-occupied buildings in South America. Once a stronghold of Inca resistance to Spanish colonization, it's remarkably well-preserved. Many travelers visit Ollantaytambo because it's the beginning of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, but don't rush through—the ruins are fascinating.

On main square and open for an early supper (many are shut until 1830). Main restaurant upstairs was empty so no one could hear our kids playing with the games on the comfy sofas at end.Sole waiter/bar man was cheerful chappie. We had drinks and appetisers. Juices and happy hour cocktails were good with frozen lemon juice well liked by kids. Food was adequate but not amazing. Bruschetta was cheese on toast? Alpaca carpaccio needed less balsamic and some olive oil. Wontons with big pile of guacamole went down well as did the onion rings. Marked down on service as got order wrong, seems like a common local problem to bring more than ordered!Unfortunately WiFi only works in half of restaurant near the stairs away from the sofas.

Ruben Ponce M. is the owner telephone: 084-204035 This is also a hostal. I hope we are able to review this place because we had a very good experience here. Thanks
Restaurant just behind our hotel (terrazas del inca) Food was ok, good portion. Staffs very friendly. There was an additional SERVICE charge which was NOT stated, which I think was inappropriate. Ask the staff, they can't even explain.
We literally told them how much salt, chili to put and they made it exactly the way we want. We ate dinner there all three days. But you should tell them exactly how you want your food cooked.

Located at the heart of Ollantaytambo, Caminos del Inka features authentic food from the Andes prepared and cooked by local restaurateurs Reynaldo and Alicia Florez. At Caminos del Inka you can expect high quality food and a friendly atmosphere. All meals
The owners of Caminos are amazing, lovely, hospitable, and work very hard to prepare the highest quality plates for their customers. This place not only has great food for great prices, the WiFi here works great and is the most reliable. Living in Ollantaytambo for the summer, this place is somewhere I highly recommend for those passing through or staying for a few too.

Our first lunch in the Sacred Valley was at the Mijuna Wasi. The rustic but bright restaurant is on the beautiful grounds of the Hotel Pakaritampu in the town of Ollantaytambo. Just walking around the gardens and enjoying the flowers and birds sets the tone for a relaxed experience. Mijuna Wasi has an interesting selection of Peuvian and International dishes. I had the alpaca for the first and last time in my life. It was really okay but there are tastier meats available. My husband had the trout which he was happy with. Our sides were very good especially the avocado salad. The service was attentive and friendly.

Is a very cozy and warm place, because we have a wood-fired oven that serves to make the pizzas and some typical dishes of the area.We also have free WI FI.
If you're going to eat pizza in Ollantaytambo, you need to know beforehand that you won't be getting anything like deep dish or thick crust Chicago style pizza - far from it - but pretty much the exact opposite. So once you've accepted that razor thin pizza is the norm in Peru, this place was pretty good. Be sure to order a size up (XL instead of L, or L instead of M) to compensate for the lack of dough, or you will leave hungry. Most places don't put much sauce on their pizza either, so expect to get your flavor from the toppings - ham and pineapple in my case. Also, the young boy who was my server was very nice and A for his effort.

Not a very good meal and mediocre service. I had the trigo soup -- wheat, rice and meat -- that was tasty and OK. The Lomo Saltado, the staple of almost every Peruvian restaurant, was already lukewarm when served, while the rice was cold. There were more onions and peppers than there was meat. The lemonade that I ordered at the beginning was served after my meal, almost like a dessert. I and another couple were the only customers at that time. Not that good.

We offer traditional and fusion cuisine, we specialize in dishes based on guinea pigs, hamburgers and pizzas. The restaurant takes advantage of the local products (excellent meats, organic vegetables, lagoon fish). Our environment, in addition to being te
The museo del cuy-Restaurant Cultural was undoubtedly the best option in Ollantaytambo. I was. To dinner every day I was there, and in dishes we ordered you could see the expert hands and affection. Good portions and quick preparation. You must visit this place, you will love it.
