At American Inn Carlisle, we welcome our guests 24 hours a day with modern and comfortable rooms, pet friendly environment at the lowest rates of any national chain. Relax and enjoy our modern rooms with Wi-Fi available for free.
One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Old, dated, dirty. Room had a odor, sticky floors. Bathroom was terrible not much bigger than a closet. No Kleenex. No water glasses. No coffee. This place isn't worth fifty dollars a night. Two small pillows on the bed. Some of the people around the hotel looked like trouble. The noise from the interstate made it hard to sleep. Worst Two nights I've spent in a hotel in a long time. Plus it was way over priced.

Providing a one star inherently suggests that some form of value was provided. The only thing I faced was a form of theft--something taken from me. I booked a 2-night stay. Before checking in, my business plans changed so that I only needed 1 night. No problem, right? I mean I have traveled for business weekly for 25+ years and achieved highest awards levels at Marriott, Hyatt, and IHG. Whenever I have requested a change of the reservation at the front desk, it's a simple matter and done on the spot. NOT HERE. The man at the front desk said his system would not allow and that I need to do it either online OR by calling Wyndham. I tried online, and it would not allow for this, so I simply called Wyndham customer service. Done. They made the change from two nights to one night. I checked out early the next morning, and my folio was later emailed to me. To my surprise, I was charged for both nights. I then called Wyndham to correct this and they said it had to be done by the local hotel. Well, that's also NEW to me as I've not ever had the runaround from a Franchisor (Wyndham, in this case), before. OK, so I call the front desk and was told that the General Manager/GM would be calling back. I received no such call in two days. I call Wyndham again, and they again call the front desk and ask that I speak to them. It turns out to be the man I had checked in with. He was quite rude and "overtalked" me, quickly sending me to the GM voicemail. I left another message (was only allowed about 10 seconds to provide a message), and have still not ever received a call back. I did EVERYTHING right. I requested a change in reservation upon check-in (and note that their cancellation/change policy is 6 PM on day of arrival, which I met). I also contacted Wyndham customer service (requested of me by the man at the front desk), and got no direct support--only saying I need to call La Quinta. The hotel and GM don't even have the decency to call me? Further, Wyndham can't support me when they even made the reduced night change on the same day of arrival? Here I am now, stuck with a hotel night I cannot expense to my employer because of unethical business practices and a hotel chain that doesn't support their top tier customers. It's worth saying again. In 25 years of weekly business travel, I've not ever run into a problem of changing (not even cancelling) my reservation on the day of arrival. NEVER. These people, based on my experience, are con artists. Nothing less describes them. This description is truthful and in NO WAY am I embellishing the story. Period. I could echo what many other reviewers have stated about how dirty the hotel is, but I think that point has been made.

Room met my needs. Check in, there were young children running around and leaving trash in lobby. Building and grounds shabby. Hallways and staircase filthy. Garbage in hallways. Outside neglected and dirty, trash around. Overall, didnt have a feeling of cleanliness staying there but as I said, room met my needs.

I chose this hotel because it was CHEAP, close to Harrisburg International Airport, and reviews here & on competitor’s websites were largely positive. Let me start by saying the gentleman who checked me in was friendly & efficient and wished me a good stay. The hotel is quite antiquated & I believe it MAY be populated by a transient population. I personally experienced no problems with this, but the immediate hotel grounds are sketchy looking. This hotel is a retro hotel and pretty dilapidated. The window blinds had cracks in them, no deadbolt on the door (flimsy chain lock only), old looking bedspreads and curtains, paper thin/dingy looking towels, cracks around the tub/shower tiles. Lightfixtures from the 60's. The floors were some kind of wood laminate or lacquered plywood that felt somewhat sticky to my bare feet. On the plus side, they do have the room well equipped with a coffee maker, small fridge, small toothpaste AND 2 toothbrushes, soap/shampoo, an iron/ironing board, big widescreen TV and cable, modern charging station adjacent to the bed, and the heat worked well. The bed was ok, the pillows were poor. (I pulled the bedspread off the bed - while it might have been clean it was just too retro/old looking for me to trust it’s cleanliness). I did not use the shower or any facilities other than the tv. I slept ok because I was exhausted. It is obvious that the cleaning staff does a decent job of keeping the room as clean as possible, given the quality level of the hotel/room. I will say it was quiet here overnight, and the area surrounding the hotel is not "sketchy" as there is really nothing much around! It would be very hard to find at night without GPS. If you are looking for a very inexpensive hotel in the area & have no need for the safety/amenities provided by most chain hotels, you may like the place. They seem to be trying to provide good value at a low price.

Beth is a friendly, professional assistant manager. Some of the other desk clerks, not so friendly and can't seem to even muster a smile with a nice good morning. Cleaning crew husband and wife are friendly and smile and say hello. Least expensive during car shows, but higher than normal prices for Super 8. Some clean up outside would certainly improve the outside appearance like spraying for weeds, trash and cigarette butts picked up. Inside could use new carpeting. Otherwise, it's always been our experience after coming for car shows over the past 15 years that it is clean and comfortable.

Great location near the interstate. Convenient to restaurants and shops. Very pleasant front desk clerk who appreciated family and what it meant to us. The gentleman went out of his way to make it a great stay. A very comfortable hotel I would be happy to stay at again

I bought a room/dinner/show package and traveled 200 miles to see the headliner in their attached comedy club. The room had a floor lamp and a very dim wall sconce ONLY. Couldn't use the luggage rack as it was too dark to see. The small double bed had only one nightstand with NOTHING on it - no clock, no phone, no reading lamp. The room was huge but had nothing in it but a small dresser and a very small table with two hard chairs. There was no carpeting in the room. The bathroom had a pedestal sink and no amenities. No tissues. The small tv was a wall-mount and had 12 channels, 3 were Spanish speaking, 1 was religious, and there was no guide or channel lineup. There was no coffee in the lobby and no breakfast was offered at all. The front desk advised that if we wanted any ice we would need to go to the in-house bar and get it as there was no ice machine. There were signs of remodeling in the halls but we were told that the room has already been upgraded. This package included a voucher for a specific amount in their attached restaurant, Boomerang Bar and Grill. I will write a separate review for that. There are several motels within walking distance.

We drove 9 hours and desperately needed a place to sleep - the region was booked except this motel. I' ve had bad experiences with Rodeway in the past so I really didn't want to stay there - but - there no other choice. Motel was falling apart. The room was filthy, the shampoo was used, yes there was half a bottle! Lord knows what type of stains were on the walls and furniture. No coffee, no breakfast, the bathroom door wouldn't swing open - it hit the toilet. Worst Rodeway experience yet. We commented to the desk clerk who understood us at first. The more problems were pointed out - the worse their comprehension of english became. We needed a room & got one. Just be careful what you ask for...

Motel 6 Mechanicsburg - Harrisburg West is located just off the PA turnpike. Close to Carlisle, the Hershey Fairgounds, dining, and shopping. Enjoy free Wi-Fi and mini-fridges in all modern guest rooms and truck parking onsite.
This hotel perfectly fit our needs. We booked two rooms here from 7/22 to 7/25 to stay while we watched racing at Williams Grove Speedway. We were looking for clean, quiet rooms close to our destination and that's exactly what we got. We are the type folks who would rather spend our vacation money on activities and finding good restaurants than booking more expensive rooms and doing less....we are budget people! We had seen some sketchy reviews from past visitors, but because the more recent ones were better we booked the trip. We were pleasantly surprised with the motel. It's clear that it's been recently renovated. Wood laminate floors that were spotless, clean bedding on what seems to be new mattresses, and the tiny bathroom had all new-looking fixtures. The tub was non-slip which is important to us. The room looked and smelled fresh. This is a budget motel so it is not perfect, there seemed to be a shortage of towels...we noted this from previous reviews and brought some from home, and the pool was, and is expected to be, closed this year. However. If you need a clean, safe-feeling budget motel with food and grocery stores within a couple minutes walk nearby, this is the place for you! Don't be afraid of the old reviews, this place is fine for what it is. If you're a budget person...go for it, if you are expecting a Hilton experience for $60 bucks...move along, this is not for you!

the pictures of this place are very outdated. Room we had # 1 , apparently had dogs in there because all woodwork had been gnawed. No soap in shower, had to ask for clean towels, carpet was dirty. This place needs to be condemned! Absolutely horrible experience!!
