Croatia makes quite a splash. With Grade 3 and 4 rafting and kayaking available on rivers that gush through lush forest, and sea kayaking on the coast, it's the perfect place to paddle. For a different pace, dive into the Adriatic's graveyard of vessels, clamber limestone cliffs or sail between 1200 islands.

Home to 310 guest rooms that combine panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea with pampering facilities that indulge and inspire, it is conveniently located only 15 minutes away on foot from Dubrovnik Old Town and 25 minutes away by car from the Dubrovnik International airport.
Great hotel overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Positives: - Breakfast great, good selection of food and beverages. Nice atmosphere with live music, wonderful outside terrace with amazing views. - Lobby area, very nicely decorated and again live music throughout the evening. - Modern and clean room. - Good location, probably a 20 minute walk to the old town (although not the the best paths if you have a pram / wheelchair would be impossible). - Nice food at beach restaurant and room service which we used a few times was good. - Friendly welcome with drinks and a tour of the hotel with reception staff. Negatives: - Balcony area in room could do with a refresh and glass needed to be cleaned. Had to ask for loungers on balcony, would be nice if they were there as a standard. - Lifts are a bit annoying / need reprogramming as don’t give you enough time to get in and out before the doors close on you. - Not a great selection of wine (although this we found was the same in most places in Dubrovnik) Overall, would I recommend to a friend - yes.

My daughter and I have just spent 5 nights here and it has exceeded our expectations! Honestly I’d be really nit picking if I was to find any faults! The staff, service, rooms and ambience were spot on. We ate lunch everyday at the beach which was always good and the cocktails were fabulous. Dinner at vapour was delicious and drinks in the outside bar were a lovely experience. Many thanks hotel Bellevue!

Situated on the beautiful peninsula of Lapad, the hotel's dramatic cliffside location, below the aromatic, pine-covered Petka woods, affords spectacular views in every direction. Fully renovated in 2014, each of the 308 contemporary rooms and suites all have private balconies and beautiful sea views. Great food and excellent service prevail. During your stay, you will be tempted to try out everything that is on offer: four swimming pools, one of which is indoors, hotel beach, tennis courts, fabulous snorkeling and a PADI diving centre, as well as a leafy jogging path and walking routes through the woods behind the hotel.
Our Hotel Dubrovnik Palace Hotel stay was beyond 5 star from our check in to check out. The front desk staff was amazing, I wish I could remember the front desk managers name. He went above and beyond to make sure our party of 7 had everything we needed, It was obvious he is a fabulous leader to his front desk staff, First impressions mean so much and he definitely deserves a big shout out, The property was absolutely amazing, The views were spectacular. The indoor, outdoor pools and hot tubs were very refreshing, We also took advantage of swimming in the ocean. The included breakfast was outstanding with lots of tasty options in a very inviting atmosphere. Room service was delicious and. prompt. The bus to town is very conveniently located right in front of the hotel entrance. We loved our stay at Hotel Dubrovnik Palace. Strongly recommend

Beautiful hotel, all staff from bar, restaurant, cleaning and reception friendly, helpful and professional. Our room was in the annex with a lovely terrace. Three of us in the room but we had space. Nice comfy beds, lovely bathroom, plenty of hot water and toiletries. Breakfast and Evening meal very good with lots of choice. Had a meal and cocktails in the bar when we arrived which were very good. We did catch the bus into the old town but also got taxis which the reception ordered for us. Nice walk along the peninsula to copacobana beach, lovely beach, very pebbly need swim shoes. Would recommend this hotel and would definitely return.

This hotel made me happy during our entire stay. Everything worked so well. The room, the breakfast, the exec lounge. And everybody was skillful and friendly. If I say, the best in the world, I know really many Hiltons but of course not all of them. But for me it is and Hilton Tokyo (not comparable in reality, it is a different kind of hotel) is a close 2nd. It was my second visit here, after 5 or more years. Possible useful information: (1) There are two nice swimming places just ~10 minutes walk from the hotel to the beach, on the right (nicer one, close to a cementery, below the park) of the Lovrijenac castle and one on the left. (2) Even if the Dubrovnic card is not so special, it pays if you visit Lokrum island which is really recommended. (3) Uber taxis work well.

Enjoying a sensational seafront setting overlooking Lapad beach and the blue-green Adriatic, the all-new 4+-star Hotel Kompas Dubrovnik offers great contemporary design, a luxury spa and outstanding dining and conference facilities with exemplary service. The most glorious panorama of the whole of Lapad Bay, its glistening clear waters and unspoilt beaches, greets you from vast floor-to-ceiling windows in our grand reception and Zenith Bar. There is both an inviting jogging path and scenic walking routes along the picture-postcard peninsula adjacent to the hotel, plus tennis courts nearby.
Hotel kompass is one of the highest standards of a hotel that I have stayed in and I have been lucky enough to stay in a few. From the moment you arrive and walk into the reception you are met with the most amazing fresh clean smell and a fabulous welcome and stunning view. All the staff are helpful and polite and nothing is too much trouble. Our room was spotless and we had a beautiful view from our balcony. Breakfast was fabulous and plentiful. We went on a couple of excursions from the hotel. Very well organised. I would not hesitate to return ( hoping to go again with the hubby) and would highly recommend. You will love it.

Beautiful grand hotel in a great location. Rooms were very comfortable and spacious. We were a little early for our check in, The front desk staff was very helpful trying to get us in our rooms early. We were offered rooms on the 6th floor which I would not recommend. Ceilings were much lower and windows were much smaller so rooms weren't near as bright as on 4th floor room. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was very conveniently located, We enjoyed walking the city and seeing all of the historic buildings/churches. It was sad to see the damage the earthquake caused. The included breakfast was delicious!! Lots of good options. Why a great way to start our days. We would highly recommend Esplanade Zagreb Hotel.

With its prestigious location, just steps from the UNESCO Old City of Dubrovnik, Hotel Excelsior is ready to show its revamped grandeur as one of the most lavish hotels on the Adriatic. Housed in a former 1913 royal villa and built to take full advantage of a west-facing view of the glorious Old Town, Hotel Excelsior Dubrovnik enjoys the most enviable location of any hotel in the city – just a five-minute walk from the medieval fortress walls. It has been welcoming famous guests from the start, including Queen Elizabeth II and Elizabeth Taylor. It’s only when you go there that you fully appreciate the magnificence of the setting: the tranquil gardens in which to stroll, a beautiful beach and three restaurants, all offering cinematic views of the Adriatic. For added luxury, there is also an indoor swimming pool, plus a glamorous spa and fitness centre.
Wonderful hotel 5 min walk from old town. Beautiful views and excellent service. Completely private water front area for swimming and an excellent indoor pool. Would definitely stay here again. Very good breakfast which you can eat on the terrace. The staff really go that extra Mike for you.

All facilities great as you would expect but what made my stay stand out was the attitude and friendliness of the staff nothing was too much trouble or too little to ask for. Breakfast offered an excellent choice but you were always greeted with a smile from Paula a chat from Birol to give you the news and make sure he could not make your stay more pleasant. However Nikolina was always a ray of sunshine with a smile and a joke. Everything you could want for a relaxing stay and the beach made a relaxing platform when not sightseeing.

The other comments are spot on - in most respects it is a superb hotel, in an amazing location, which is well designed to take full advantage of the panoramic views, generally very good food and attentive staff etc. It is certainly one of the best hotels in Dubrovnik, but it could be one of the best in Croatia, but is let down in some basic areas. It has some natural advantages, Croatians are a friendly, relaxed, people and virtually all speak fluent English. But perhaps too relaxed? The lifts were a farce during our stay - unreliable, barely working 50% of the time and a real pain and clearly the problem was not being managed and communication was abysmal. Also the evening entertainment was often a little lacking - this was exacerbated by a complete absence of any English TV channels, or other facility at the hotel. It is surprising that whilst English is the accepted common language in the hotel this is not vaguely represented. There are 200 or so TV channels on every language in the world on the TV on their system, except English! There was the ubiquitous "Sky News" but this had an irritatingly bad connection which allegedly could not be fixed. But these were minor flaws and it is a fabulous hotel, with a particularly lovely breakfast with bespoke stations providing eggs, omelettes, as required and best of all fruit (marvellous display and service). Service was generally, very good and particular thanks to Vestna who runs the beautiful indoor pool, steam, sauna, foot spa etc, and whose considerable expertise, made our visits to the facility really special.
