I've eaten at Bristols for many years. They are still the best in service and food quality. I've taken many dates here and they have always been happy with this place. Sunday brunch is really good. Really good salmon. Nothing disappointing on the food menu. I wish i lived closer.

The first time I went to Paul Manno's the confusion was surreal. Very good friends had recommended this restaurant and here it was...in a shopping strip mall! I was certain there was no way this could be the best Italian restaurant in St Louis. Over 15 years later, I'm still eating "crow" over that assumption! Travel guides and St Louis residents who don't regularly indulge in fine-r dining, will always tout restaurants "On the Hill" This area is known as St Louis's "Little Italy"...and it is fantastic. However, I've eaten at the Michelin highest star restaurants, Tony's...Geraldo's, Anthony's. Paul Manno's is HANDS DOWN the best food in our city. If you're lucky, and this isn't even Italian, the scrod will be there. Always fresh, that's why it's an Off the Menu item. The scrod with the light white wine, butter and caper sauce is to die for, seriously!

Kreis' has been a St. Louis favorite for over 60 years. Famous for our world renowned Prime Rib.
I travel to St Louis for business and heard on several occasions that this place was great. I decided to finally give it a try. When you rank this with other steakhouses in major cities at this price. It was average. At best. Shrimp cocktail was a joke do not waste your money.

J. Gilbert's is an "upscale casual" steakhouse serving prime-aged beef cooked over a mesquite wood-fired grill. Guests enjoy various cuts of steak, fresh seafood (including award-winning crab cakes) & other house made favorites like the Maytag Bleu potato chips. The cozy atmosphere includes rich wood, brick & soft lighting where you can enjoy a quiet table or host a large party. The extensive martini & wine list offers the perfect compliment to an excellent meal delivered with attentive service. J. Gilbert's is open daily for dinner & lunch. Reservations are recommended.
Great birthday dinner! Sam, our waiter, was awesomely attentive. The food was delicious (husband had the 6 oz. filet, me the cedar planked salmon) and prepared just as we asked. Sam was so kind to bag up our leftovers, including my complimentary birthday dessert. Although J. Gilbert's is a bit pricey for weekly dining out, we enjoy coming here several times a year for special occasions. It's always a great way to celebrate the year end holidays.

It's where my girlfriends and I go when we have a shopping day. I had the goat cheese tort with roasted vegetables tonight. So good.

I have to say I love this place.
We arrived late in the evening hoping to avoid a rush, which we did. When placed on the wait list we were told about 30-45 minutes would be our wait time. That was not the case. We were sat in less than 10 minutes.
We were sat next to a large party and my companion was being bumped and stood over constantly. The staff recognized this and moved us to a table on the opposite side of the restaurant. The area was larger and more quiet. But we weren’t complaining where we were because the actions of the party was of no fault of the restaurant.
Our food was brought out quickly and was hot. It wasn’t something that had been sitting in a warmer and it tastes fresh; that’s the key.
The staff that served us were very nice, constantly coming to check on us. But there was only one issue that negatively caught my attention. The table next to us was able to look into the prep area where the food was passed through the window right before being taken to the tables. The ladies said they saw a young lady pick up trash off the floor then immediately touch food and put it on a plate for service.
I encouraged them to report it but they left without saying anything. I mentioned it to our waiter because that is not to be tolerated. I don’t know if it was escalated but it’s my sincere hope that it was.
Back to the food! The portions they give are huge! We had more than half of our plates left. If you have a tremendous appetite try the Admirals Platter. The variety on there is bound to satisfy your seafood craving. And as a matter of fact, I’m eating the remainder of my Shrimp and Crab cake combo and its tastes just as good today as it did when it was sat on my table.
I will definitely go back again and again and again!

My husband and I went to BrickTop's around 10:00 PM after a show. It was surprisingly busy and noisy for that hour, but perhaps that was because of greater attendance due to the holiday season. The server, Sarah, was very pleasant and accommodating. We split the Caesar salad--it would have been a large portion for one. The dressing was a bit tart--seemed as if they had put mustard in it--but still on the whole good. We then split the BBQ baby back ribs--another portion that would be large for one person. It was absolutely delicious. Among the best we've had. We didn't want the cole slaw that came with it, so as an alternative they gave us a loaded baked potato. The fries that came with the dish were excellent. We also liked the fact that the tables are not on top of each other. The wine was a bottle of merlot at a very reasonable price. Overall, a pleasant post-theater meal. We'll go again.

A little bitty place with a steady line of folks eager to sample the specialties of the house. Nothing fancy about the place with just a few tables and a bit of a wait. Patience is rewarded with hot from the fryer corn bites; crispy, smoking wings; tender Turkey ribs; and, the curious nubs called Turkey tips. Green beans and greens both cooked with a light hand, still flavorful and served hot. No cookies were available for our visit but the Carmel cake was moist and buttery just as I remembered From all the church dinners of my childhood.

Friends and I stopped at this restaurant for lunch after seeing a movie. The restaurant has a decidedly upscale look and feel. I chose the Mezza Shrimp Risotto lunch plate, and it was very good. The accompanying salad was a disappointment as my only choice of dressing was a vinaigrette--not a favorite of mine. My friends loved their meals of Half Pesto Club with Kale Caesar salad and Mezza Chicken Limone. The raspberry mojito was also yummy. Lunch is pricy--I paid $15.50 for the Risotto and water to drink.

Reasons to visit Il Bel Lago: great good, friendly staff, and great atmosphere. The food was amazing - the risotto Milanese was perfect: tender chicken, bold flavor, perfect amount. The staff was very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The atmosphere was perfect for date night. The wine selection is very good and reasonably priced.
