Discover Restaurants offering the best Greek food in Chorafakia, Crete, Greece including Palazzo Al Mare, Tavern Irene, Sunset Taverna, Boys, The Meating, Restaurant Lefka Ori, Coffee Station
We visit Hora Sfakia every year, and always try out somewhere different to eat on our first night - but then always return to the Lefka Ori for our second night, wishing we had eaten there for both nights! It is run by a local family, and was set up in 1969 by the father - who still works in the kitchen. His food is genuinely traditional, and there is a good choice of dishes that originate from the Sfakia region. Highly recommended.
Tavern BBQ with handmade greek food
We stayed in Chorafakia for a week and tried this taverna. It was quiet throughout the night with never more than three or four tables occupied. It's not expensive but there are better places to eat nearby. Most place nowadays offer raki and ice cream as a dessert (without extra charge) but all you got here was rather tired watermellon which leave you disappointed.

Had food from here twice, once for takeaway chicken Gyros which were delicious and fantastic value then for dinner. Very friendly attentive service, really lovely people. Delicious greek salad and huge perfectly cooked medium rare steaks. Beware the "red" wine....this was more like rosé and really rather lethal...we did think the waiter was rather surprised when we ordered a litre of it!! They were very busy and run off their feet trying to fulfill orders but still giving good smiley service. This restaurant is a grill so no moussaka/stifado type dishes on the menu but plenty of lovely salads and fresh meat. Definitely worth a visit.

The view is spectacular here however the food wasn't great overcooked pasta with no seafood in it considering it was seafood pasta. The service was poor the guy was not very friendly at all. Sorry but this restaurant will have to up its game as it can't live on the view alone

Tavern Irene is a traditional Greek tavern, located in the center of the village Chorafakia, at the crossroad in about 1 km after Kalathas beach, in Chania prefecture, Crete.
We stayed in Chorafakia for a week and after trying the other tavernas returned to Irene's for the majority of the time. The staff are welcoming and attentive. the food is typical Greek taverna style with plenty of choice and variety. The Greek slad is generous with the tomatoes and portions are generous making this a very good value place to eat.

Palazzo almare restaurant is the place where you can experience the tasteful beauty of Greece. Althought we don't try to serve just food, we try to create memories for you and your company!
A nice and buzzing restaurant overlooking the water. The building is a beautiful townhouse converted to provide dining on all floors and lots of tables outside at ground floor. It is definitely worth booking in advance and requesting one of the tables on the first floor balcony which is private and overlooks the water, it makes a special occasion. Otherwise the roof provides a great outside dining experience.Overall the food was good and priced about right.
