Reviews on Italian food in Hersonissos, Crete, Greece. Sandy, peaceful beaches and ancient ruins beckon travelers to Chersonisos, a one-time Roman port on the island of Crete. This is a family-friendly place, with plenty of activities for kids. The Lychnostatis Open Air Museum gives you the chance to explore the trades and lifestyles of early islanders. Exhibits include a herbarium, olive oil and wine presses and workshops on ceramics, shoe making and weaving. The aquarium showcases local sea creatures, as do the town's many traditional cafes, though in a completely different (and more delicious) manner.

ITALIAN AND GREEK HOMEMADE FOOD since 1991- one of the oldest restaurant in malia-serving u homemade italian and greek food.
Popped in here as their desserts looked nice. We both ordered and had a Strawberry Cup and After Eight - really lovely. Fresh fruit and lovely soft ice cream and the cost is really good â¬4.50 and well worth it.

Called in for a late lunch and was very pleasantly surprised as I hadn't checked reviews. Didn't expect random choice of so many similar looking beachside restaurants to come up trumps.Great location, nicely presented with good friendly service.A couple of beers, wine, bread, olives & dips, Greek salad & octopus, spare ribs. Complementary watermelon and a small bottle of rakomelo, my new favourite Greek digestivo, to finish. â¬45 including tip. Very very good food. Great service. Really impressed.

VOLKANO was founded in 1992 and since then, up to now it has been captivating your look from the first time you decide to visit it. It urges you to travel to another era that seems to have been extinct by keeping the traditional architecture of the villag
Visited twice during our summer break with family including our five year old grand daughter. Only got positive things to say. Located in the center of the village, equally good for sit down meal, or a takeaway pizza.Very pleasing ambiance, amenable staff and wonderful food. Plenty of room between tables. Food arrived promptly, very well presented and hot. Frequented by tourists and locals alike, I believe it is also open outside the main holiday season. Never felt under pressure to vacate our table, very reasonably priced.Would visit again without hesitation! What wonderful evenings we had, memories to treasure for a lifetime!

We went here on our first and last nights as we enjoyed the meal and atmosphere of this great restaurant. We were welcomed in by a very friendly PR guy. They have a pizza oven where you can see them preparing fresh pizzas and the pizzas were good.Theres a big choice and at the end you are given complimentary melon and Raki.Definitely worth a visit.

Ate here twice, excellent quality food with thin based pizza with copious toppings and excellent lamb chops. Reasonably priced with friendly attentive staff. Left overs are used to feed the fish who gather under the outdoor seating area which provides entertainment for the diners. Given the size of the portions it is no surprise that there are left overs. An excellent restaurant to visit
