Good food, good price, good service. All fine. If you smoke. We were there with children, and especially sat inside, because we don't smoke. But all smoke comes into the restaurant from outside. Ugly and annoying, we ran out quickly and got great coffee nearly in the cafe on the beach...

After having some not so nice experience in Heraklion we tried Maxim, based on the reviews here. We were not disappointed. As appetizer we had mussels saganaki, a huge plate with mussels and vegetables covered with melted cheese. Main course was a traditional dish made of lamb, delicious as well. 2 persons shared 1 portion of each since we wanted to try more than one plate, and it was actually too much! Portions are big. Even if we were full, the server brought us fruits and raki on the house, very good option for desert.

Although we did not expect it, this was the best food we had during our vacation on Crete. We have ordered various vegetarian starters as we always do: haloumi, grilled veggies, some other cheese with peppers (i dont remember the name) and it was fantastic! Even the free desert an raki tasted better than usual :)
