Keep it simple, keep it fresh. Seems to work here with a solid fish soup then swordfish steak.Great array of desserts and lashings of white wine. Prompt service and very good quality.Remarkable coincidence but an absolutely identical menu both in layout and comprehensive content given to us in a dedicated fish restaurant in Concon,Chile earlier this year. Truly weird !

Peskesi restaurant in Heraklion Crete, is an effort to discover the secrets and enjoy the benefits of the Cretan diet. Our cuisine is based on pure and natural products of the Cretan land and our aim is to highlight the traditional Cretan aromas and flavo
This was one of the best restaurants we have visited in Greece over the past 10 years. We made reservations for 9pm on a Friday night so of course it was packed, but we were seated underneath a tree in a quiet corner (you can see these photos from the management on here) where we could still hold a conversation without having to shout. The food was absolutely delicious! We were a table of 4 that ordered several appetizers and different main courses so we could share in between. (The portions are big - be aware!) We agreed that the goat with yoghurt was our favourite. The attention to detail wasn't too over pretentious, rather a surprising and impressive dining experience. The wine list was also nothing to complain about either. Really well paired with the food. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff did a great job as well. Will definitely return.

The restaurant is going to be CLOSED from 13/09/16 to 15/09/16
This reataurant is amazing! The food is delicious, the ingredients are of top quality and the dishes don't let you feel hungry even for a moment!! Adikristo (the traditional dish with lamp) was greatly cooked! The menu includes all the lical recipies and taste like prepared at traditional cretan house! The cretan hospitality at its best!! Would suggest it to anyone wishing to taste home made traditional cretan dishes!!

Family restaurant serving both traditional Greek/Cretan dishes and Texas/American cuisine such as fajitas, burgers, steaks, chicken wings, and more.
I went there twice in 2 days! The food is absolutely delicious, abundant, and the service is very friendly and caring. They will give you a desert and/or a shooter of raki, just these little attentions that make it special. You can sit outside, itâs a quiet corner right next to a parc. And you can use their wi-fi. If I am ever back in Héraklion I am going back there.

With a history of a century, NTORE is an emblematic stamping ground of urban Heraklion. Reinvented on the same grounds where for years it was a meeting place, a place of entertainment and culture. Ntoré Gastronomy & Symposia dominates one of the highest v

Unfortunately, I didn't get there until 4 PM and all that was left were the stuffed peppers and tomatoes. So that's what I ordered, along with a Greek salad. It was a great meal (for leftovers). I just wonder what I missed out on. They must have understood that I was disapointed that there wasn't much left on the menu, so they served me a dessert for free.

Restaurant with authentic and guality Gretan cuisine!!
We walked by Merastri on our way to another restaurant and noticed how inviting it looked. The original restaurant was full and my husband called Merastri immediately. Though difficult, they said they had a table for (nine) waiting for us.First of all, the ambiance was inviting, comfortable and lovely. We had a table beneath the tree. Wine, starters, entrees and dessert were absolutely wonderful and delicious. Even better was the service. They were professional, friendly and humorous. The entire evening was enjoyable and memorable. Our group of nine agreed it was amazing and recommend this wonderful restaurant.

After having some not so nice experience in Heraklion we tried Maxim, based on the reviews here. We were not disappointed. As appetizer we had mussels saganaki, a huge plate with mussels and vegetables covered with melted cheese. Main course was a traditional dish made of lamb, delicious as well. 2 persons shared 1 portion of each since we wanted to try more than one plate, and it was actually too much! Portions are big. Even if we were full, the server brought us fruits and raki on the house, very good option for desert.

An atmospheric, cozy place and of the most popular gourmet hangouts of Heraklion, since 2000. All these years 'Parasies' -as was the original name of the restaurant- has been opening its doors to foodies in a smaller, intimate and beloved place. Our desir
Stopped in for lunch on our first day in Crete, and found ourselves in a lovely place with some of the best food we've eaten on this three week trip.Traditional dishes are brought into the modern world and everything is prepared beautifully. This is a very special place that will not disappoint.
