Nikos and his Sons are always welcoming. A great meal as usual and extremely reasonably priced served with excellent wine, red on this occasion, great service even though special party of 40 also eating here. Finished off with a special round of raki with honey enjoyed with Nikos. Not to be missed.

The food was not among the best we've had in Crete. My roast meatballs (keftedes) and potatoes were good. My moms stuffed vegetables not great-- too filled with rice instead of veggie rice mix. The zuchinni pancakes were bad- like bread. View and seating on the port were great.
This lovely restaurant has a big menu. The food ranges from individual dishes for a meze to tortellini. There's stuffed onions, dakos, fried cheese, calamari, deep fried mushrooms, meat balls, deep fried courgette. The list is endless. Well worth a visit.
The gruelling hillside walk up to this little taverna from Loutro is all the more worth the effort when you take your first sip of their freshly prepared orange juice, absolutely exquisite. Apparently they have invested in a special machine that makes it almost like a smoothyMemories of gently sipping whilst taking in the view down the hillside to the beautiful blue of the Aegean will stay with us for a long time

Harbourside at the far end of Loutro just before the end beach; thatched roof, tables and chairs harbourfront location and stunning. Nice drinks, it's more of a bar. Good soulful music playing. Great place to kill time while waiting for the water taxi. Drinks quite expensive.

A small, family Cafe & Restaurant with Rooms right by the sea! Contact Nikos Androulakakis for reservations.
My wife, daughter and I went to the Notos Café to take our morning coffee. We sat outside where there was an excellent view of the graphic Chania Harbour; the place was spacious, clean, tidy and quiet. Service was excellent â prompt and courteous. We ordered two cups of Cappuccino and a frappe; all were tasty and of generous volume; the frappe was especially satisfying. What is more, the prices were logical rendering the whole visit to Notos very good value-for-money.All-in-all, the Notos Café proved to be a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. Next time we visit Chania Harbour we will call again.

We ate at the restaurant three times during our stay and we strongly recommend this place. The owners are more than friendly, they are willing to provide you any information needed and of course, great food. We ordered pastitsio which was amazing, shrimp pasta, ntako, lamb with potatoes. Everything was fresh and delicious.

We stayed in Loutro for more than a week, so we were able to try almost all the different restaurants. But we are vegetarians and fish-eaters, so we didn't try the one that is currently ranked #1 in the town, since that seemed catering to BBQ meat, chicken, and lamb. Of all the places we tried, Ilios was by far the best. They have an amazing arugula salad with figs, walnuts, and honey mustard. This was a refreshing change from eating so many Greek salads and Cretan salads over a month. Indeed, it was the best salad we had during our entire journey. The spanakopita was also the best one we had during our time in the Greek islands. And for fish lovers, the fresh sea bream was amazing: perfectly grilled and tender, so that it didn't need any sauce or other extra flavoring. (But the sauce was excellent, too!) Overall, most restaurants in Loutro are fine, not great. This is definitely the one that stands out as special!
