Super casual poboy shop . Always packed so plan to wait. THE BEST roast beef poboy anywhere. Perfect bread, loaded with meat and just the right amount of gravy! I usually get half roast beef and a half fried shrimp because I can't decide which is best.

Great service, friendly, courteous server. She recommended Eggs Sardou. They were scrumptious. Perfectly prepared hollandaise and poached eggs with rich creamy spinach and artichokes. Yummy! Can't wait to stop in again on future travels through the area.

Client recommended Gallaghers and as we were leaving, called out to recommend the strip steak which I gotta say, was awesome. Broiled in garlicly butter and cooked precisely as requested. Service impeccable and sides portions ample. Will definitely return on next trip.

We went for a birthday brunch meal with some “foodie” family, including a retired chef. All of us were impressed. The service was impeccable; friendly, fast, helpful. Their coffee is fantastic. Everyone had a taste of mine and some ordered more despite already having had some at home. We shared two appetizers- the deviled eggs and smoked salmon- both fantastic. We were very pleasantly surprised at how large the portions were too. We received 7-8 egg halves for $7 but had only been expecting 3-4. They were rich and creamy with a lovely zing. Main courses were: catfish - “very clean and some of the best he’s every had”
Corn and chicken tamale with creamy grits - the waiter said it was his favorite and I could taste why. The flavors were amazing and blended well and complemented each other perfectly.
Husband had the poutine with a poached egg that was very tasty
Frittata - was declared excellent
We were all too full for dessert but the choices looked amazing.
My husband and I definitely plan to go back for lunch or dinner.
They also had some very nice live music during the Sunday brunch.

We had the chargrilled oysters, grilled salmon salad, Cajun pasta, and paneed chicken. Everything was fabulous. I highly recommend the balsamic pepper jelly salad dressing. Don’t order the salmon well done- they actually cook it the way you request. The service was amazing.

One of three Chimes locations.
Dining at Chimes in Covington was a Louisiana experience. While spending the night at a local hotel, we chose Chimes based upon the front desk recommendation endorsed by Trip Advisor #1 rating. We visited on the Saturday evening before Fat Tuesday, so the place was packed with Mardi Gras celebrants. Had to wait about 40 minutes, but there was a party atmosphere so the time went quickly.
Once seated the service was friendly and fast. Had the house special Lagniappe (crab+) cakes, red beans and rice, and cat fish, all washed down with the local Abita Amber. Fun evening.

We chose Del Porto for our rehearsal dinner for several reasons, but primarily quality of the food and location near the wedding guest’s hotel. The restaurant worked closely with us on a menu for the rehearsal dinner. We were able to reserve the entire restaurant, which made for a great evening enjoyed by everyone.
I highly recommend Del Porto as a great group venue. The price was very reasonable for what we requested of them.

Reunion of classmates(30+years!)...In the heart of quaint and quiet downtown Covington, lovely little “hole in the wall” boasts a perfect little menu with wholesome, healthier versions of our favorite brunch ideas...my daughter(14yo) chose the smoked salmon omelet with cream cheese and sourdough toast on the side. I chose whole grain toast with mix, cream cheese, purple onion, capers and fresh slices of tomatoes. Others chose western omelet, whole grain pancakes, scrambler varieties. More food than expected per dish, great coffee. Wonderful service by Jonathan...cozy atmosphere, as if we were at one of our homes being served! Will make it a point to return . A great find!

Having frequented Acme Oyster House in New Orleans for charbroiled oysters, I wasn't surprised that they were also delicious at the Covington location. I suppose that I've never tried the fried catfish at Acme before. But, I found the fried catfish to be perfectly fried and delicious.

Went to Dakota with colleagues while in a recent business trip. Good variety on the menu, especially for lunchtime. There was a wide variety of salads to select from as well as other entrees. Service was very attentive but our waiter was a little nosy listening to our conversation quite a bit. Assumed it was his attempt at being friendly but he actually could have been more discreet. Overall, enjoyed the meal.
