Reviews on Irish food in Dungloe, County Donegal, Ireland. An Clochán Liath (called Dungloe or Dunglow in English) is a Gaeltacht town in County Donegal in Ulster, Ireland. It is the main town in The Rosses and the largest in the Donegal Gaeltacht. Dungloe developed as a town in the middle of the 18th century, and now serves as the administrative and retail centre for the west of County Donegal, and in particular The Rosses, with the only mainland secondary school for the area.

Visited Leo's again this year to enjoy the food and the music and wasn't disappointed. A lovely warm Irish welcome with engaging staff and the Bartley the perfect host. Don't miss a visit if you are nearby or do a detour!

Visited Friday evening to this wonderful and my favourite restaurant of all times, sat by the turf fire for drinks ( loved the Irish gin, Irish tonic and dulce). Wonderful setting, welcome, service and food. Faultless. The home made bread, starters and main course were delicious. Pity you can't buy the bread, it's the best ever. Love everything about it. Thank you.

Just pulled over to this place as we were hungry and on the road. Expected to find a âgreasy spoon cafeâ. Pleasantly surprised as it was far from it! Wonderfully decorated, pleasant staff, lovely view, spotlessly clean AND amazing food! Couldnât fault a thing. Loved the touch of a kids play area which was tastefully done. Well done to the crowd whoâve established this lovely place! Long may it continue to be a gem

We had just returned from an amazing boat trip... and were ready for good food. Well the Lobster Pot provided just that, in a super-enchanting atmosphere...The meal was excellent and the pints were perfect too. The service was very good and pleasant with great cráic and banter. In all honesty I couldn't fault a thing...loved all the county jerseys on display along with many other interesting artifacts and memorabilia. You would easily recognize and appreciate the fact that the family put their heart and soul into the place. A very pleasurable experience....thank you

We are regular customers every year and look forward to the cafe opening for the summer. The new menu and decor is fabulous. I had the pancakes with maple syrup & bacon which were delicious. My youngest had the kids pancakes with nutella and also agreed they were divine. My eldest had the mini breakfast with a homemade scone. The scones was so fresh he loved it. We will be back for lunch. All very reasonably priced. Thank you all.

The Butterrock restaurant is situated on Dungloeâs main street & is the perfect place to head for a cup of hot tea or coffee, a mouth-wateringly delicious slice of homemade apple pie, a lunch of freshly breaded haddock, a soup & sandwich. The list goes on
Stopped in here while touring around the North West of Donegal. Lovely, friendly and clean coffee shop on the main street. Parking available behind the Cope supermarket as Main St parking is a quite busy.Good cafe menu to suits most tastes. We had toasted sandwiches followed by delicious and substantial sized desserts. Gorgeous!

We went here for our first night based in dungloe. we managed to get a table as it was very busy on a Friday night. Lovely feeling not rowdy and nice drink selection. Food menu was good and portions big. I has the vegetarian curry with rice and it also came with chips. Hubby had the fish and chips with mushy peas and onion rings. Again a great portion and everything was very tasty.Dear GlasgowWinenut,Thank you for choosing The Bayview on your recent visit to Dungloe.I am delighted to read that both yourself and your husband enjoyed both meals and found them to be plentiful.I look forward to seeing you back again if you're ever in the area.RegardsCharlieBar Manager
