65 Seater restaurant, american style theme, serving an extensive breakfast and lunch/dinner menu. Wine available. We strive to have a family friendly environment in relaxed and welcoming surroundings.
Called here based in reading on reviews. Both myself and my husband went for the southern fried chicken burger and fries. Piping hot, fresh and very good. It was quiet but great music playing. Our waitress was active cleaning and dancing away around the restaurant. We discovered her name was Geraldine, a very warm, friendly and really likeable lady. Thank you for a lovely informative chat and good feed.

We were on our way to Donegal so we stopped for some lunch here after reading the reviews on tripadvisor. What a disappointment. The decor was awful. It was like a greasy spoon really. The food was alright in fairness. But very basic. The toilets were very rough and ready. It was not cheap either. Definitely we wont be back. The reviews were vert misleading in this case

First time I walked out of the restaurant hungry.Me and my husband ordered chicken wings to share which they looked more like frog wings very small. Then I ordered medium rare steak I got medium well when I returned it I had to wait 20 minutes for another steak unfortunately what came back I cant even call it a steak the meat was grey over cooked again and tasted like it was 3 years old.Never had a worst night in my life and we were celebrating 1 month as a married couple so thank you for horrible experience.Wont be coming back.

We popped in for an early dinner on Saturday night. Great service from the get-go - friendly, welcoming and prompt. Though the restaurant is clearly popular and therefore very busy, the waiting staff managed to glide around the place unflustered and there in a trice when needed. We had duck and lamb - beautifully cooked and melt in the mouth. Good to see local Cavan produce on the menu. Baked Alaska for dessert - what a treat - you can't find that anywhere on a menu. Great wine choices too. Even though we knew the table was needed back for second sitting, there was no pressure to hurry us out the door - all in all a really great experience in every way. We will definitely be back for more!

We were looking for somewhere to eat on a road trip to Co. Clare. Spotted the Hatch and parked up outside. Inside was modern and clean. Menu was varied ( had to ask for kids meals though). My partner had the beef dinner special, I had soup and kids had chicken wings and pizza. The beef was nothing short of superb. My partner is a chef and not easily impressed, however he found it cooked to perfection, slightly pink in the middle as it should be. I also tried it and it was melt in the mouth delicious! Mine and kids meals also lovely. Service was friendly and efficient and prices reasonable. We would definitely recommend to anyone and would definitely go again if weâre ever passing again!Thank you for your warm comments . We hope you all enjoyed your trip away and hope to see you soon . We are updating our kids menus for lunch time service at present . The Hatch .
