Dnipropetrovsk Oblast (Ukrainian: Дніпропетро́вська о́бласть, Dnipropetrovs'ka oblast or Дніпропетровщина, Dnipropetrovshchyna, Russian: Днепропетро́вская о́бласть [dʲnʲɪprəpʲɪˈtrofskəjə ˈobɫəstʲ]) is an oblast (province) of central Ukraine, the most important industrial region of the country. It was created on February 27, 1932. The River Dnieper runs through the oblast.
