Reviewed By HinckmeisterLast minute booking on our way home to the UK from Poland. NOT disappointed! Great location in a fabulous, friendly city, with heaps of culture and amazing architecture! Convenient for both the railway station and the city centre, and literally just around the corner from the incredible Staatstheater, an early 20th century archetectural design masterpiece that is still ahead of its time... Arriving at the hotel by car was easy; there was private car parking adjacent to the hotel, and check in was a pleasure. The lady manager was brilliant - I enjoyed practising my poor German language with her - "Sehr schöne Schuhe, liebe Frau!". She was so helpful in helping us to check in and showing us to our rooms, and very proud of Cottbus and its wonderful attractions. Thank you so much, Madam! I recommend paying the extra for the breakfast here, as it is of superb quality, and served in the super-quaint restaurant at the corner of the building - a GREAT way to start the day! Overall, a superb stay, with everything we needed on hand. Also a wonderful city, with a great history and culture so, if you haven't been here before, make sure you do your research before you come and stay!

Reviewed By riverpaddlesI have been staying at the Waldhotel every year since2010 with groups of up to 44 people that I take on a yearly coaching and playing soccer tour. We are treated like royalty every year and nothing is to much for the staff. This is the place where you must stay when you visit Cottbus. Breakfast lunch and dinner first class, the rooms are really nice and the place is situated surrounded by forrest. Also plenty to do may it be cycling kayaking or sightseeing just ask the staff and you will find an activity to enjoy yourself. I will be back with 3 different groups in 2016 there is no alternative the Waldhotel is tops!

Maybe the best value for money in Cottbus
Reviewed By GoldenMattarelloVisited Cottbus for business and found the Radisson to be the best value for money I could get: excellent breakfast, great sauna, good Internet connection, spacious and comfy rooms and very helpful staff. The hotel may look a bit "retro" at first (rooms, lobby, etc) but you easily get over it by the amenities and helpfulness of the staff. I did enjoy the breakfast (best bacon in the region, good coffee, wide options, freshly squeezed OJ) and the sauna is really nice after a day of work and meetings. The location was perfect for me, as I like walking and did not bother the 15 mins walk to the center of the city, where you most probably will end up having dinner. Besides, the location is strategic for trains to Berlin + airport, car rentals, local public transportation tram and busses. Will stay again -

A stay to get okay again....
Reviewed By Wim SAs this hotel is working with the DR Koch clinic, there was a room booked for us as I had to undergo a hernia surgery in Cottbus. The hotel is perfect located at the heart of the city centre. Easy to park your car in the garage of the hotel. Check in was swift and smooth. The first room we were allocated to was not really ok to us as my partner was with me for support during my surgery time, and had to work aswell from his laptop. So after asking for a different room with a bit more space and a better desk, we were shown 2 other rooms and one of these was perfect. At no extra cost we were able to take this room. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. Thinking with you. Beds are ok as is the rest of the room. The only minor thing is the shower wich is a little small in my opinion. But the rest of the room and hotel are very ok for a week stay. B reakfast is simple but adequate. Very easy to get a lunchbox arranged and they were super friendly in everything. Giving information, asking how I was before and after surgery...it is THAT what makes a difference,. Hotels have rooms and tv's and everything. But it is the staff that makes the difference and for us...they did. Great people and very recommendable. As an hotel expert I have no hesitations in going back. Thank you staff of SORAT HOTEL COTTBUS!

Reviewed By Petra TWe found this hotel as conveniently located close to the highway on our trip from Berlin to the Czech Republic. Only after the first night did we find out how to turn on the bathroom light. That made our stay less convenient then necessary, although it save the hotel on the electric bill. Breakfast was included.

Pleasant stay
Reviewed By NoroddenCity Hotel Cottbus was included as one of the stops on our Spreewald bike tour called “Gurkenradweg”. We didn’t have very high expectations as this was only to be a one night stay. We were however pleasantly surprised. Firstly, we arrived during the world championship soccer game (2018) between Germany and South Korea. Although most everyone in the hotel was watching the game, the manager jumped to our service with a big smile and gave us a warm welcome. We were quickly checked in and given directions to where we could store our bikes inside the hotel’s locked shelter. We were given a bright and clean room on the third floor which was larger than we expected and seemed to be recently refurbished (as seemed much of the hotel). Breakfast was basic but more than sufficient. One thing we did miss was a larger flat screen TV with English channels. Many of the German hotels have only German stations. All in all, a great place to stay when visiting Cottbus.

Reviewed By ohemahDas hatten wir nicht erwartet. Am Stern kratzende Küche, perfekter Service, das Ganze in einem historischen Gebäude im wunderschönen Branitzer Park. Wir haben auch im Cavalierhaus übernachtet, was das Erlebnis abgerundet hat. Unbedingt eine Reise wert!!

Reviewed By Jean-Paul vA very quiet place to stay. We adore the friendliness of the staff. We had a family room which was quiet and spacious. Dinner was tasty and typical German cooking. We only stayed one night, however enjoyed this greatly.
