About 50 miles northeast of Trento, Corvara in Badia is the principle town of Alta Badia, a ski resort area at the top end of the Val Badia Valley in Bolzano-Bozen. Home to many alpine skiing World Cup events, the gorgeous mountain region also has many lovely towns and beautiful sights not on the normal beaten tourist path, such as the Sante Croce pilgrimage church and the Museum Ladin Ciastel de Tor (Little Ladin Museum), honoring the unique Dolomite culture of the local Ladin people.

We went for the second time to this restaurant located inside the Perla hotel in Corvara. It did not disappoint as last time. Very nice and cosy ambience with wooden panels, romantic lighting and an impeccable and formal service. The cuisine has a modern twist on local dishes with a long and good quality wine list. The sommelier is very professional and prepared.
We had a starter of local, especially hand grown salad from their trusted farmer. Apparently most of the types of leaves in that salad are now extinct and only cultivated by this farmer on their behalf.. We had beetroot risotto with prawns and goat cheese. it was excellent. We had fish with chargrilled watermelon and a delicious caramel suffle.
Prices are steep but the place is a Michelin star and so it's suitable for a special night out. We recommend this place and will be back soon.

L'Murin, located directly opposite the entrance to hotel La Perla, is a rustic style barn converted from its ex mill usage, and provides a refined restaurant setting in the summer season and an apres ski and pub atmosphere in winter.L'Murin, situato di fronte all'entrata dell'hote La Perla, e una casa rustica ricavata da un ex mulino, offre un ambiente raffinato come ristorante durante l'estate ed un atmosfera da pub come pres ski durante l'inverno.
This year around new years eve there was not much snow and it was very windy in Corvara so some days we almost raced to Murin to get warm and dance in the afternoon. It is a lot of fun and the music is a good mix to please young and young at heart people.

Really amazing service and food here, local specialities and great wine. This was the only place open in May 2016 so we ate her a few times and were super impressed with the amazing food each time :)

Every time I come back to Alta Badia, this is my favourite place . Great food, not just good, whether you eat upstairs, down or outside. Spätzle to die for, good local wines and prices that are reasonable for the quality. The place has not changed in years. Always a good sign.

Both the personnel and the food served are very nice. We stayed in the "stube," which is a separate room with traditional Tyrolean decorations and which provided a typical and pleasant ambience. The meal was tasty and the portions fair, but could have been a little more generous.
Our impression was that the prices are in general a bit higher than the average of the area, however the whole experience was very enjoyable.

Typical tyrolean ambience with ladin specialities. Opened every day for lunch and dinner.
The Ladin people are a culturally distinct group within the dolomites. They retain their own language and cuisine. We had the pleasure of indulging in a tasting plate that was delicious. Tagliatelle with a venison ragu, stuffed pasta and mushrooms with shredded cured meat and a stuffed cheese dumpling bird with one another for top honors. An incredible meal and warm and efficient service. Highly recommended.

In total we ate 3 times in the Fornella. Super quick friendly efficient service. Great food and good value too. Get there early though because it is popular and they dont seem to take Reservations. We usually arrived before 18.30 after this time you will have to queue.

In summer or winter, the recently refurbished mountain hut Piz Arlara in Corvara in Alta Badia is well worth a visit. Not far from the slopes of Alta Badia ski carousel, it lies in the heart of the Dolomites, close to Sellaronda. In winter the hut is an ideal destination for ski and other winter sports enthusiasts, while it is easily accessible by hikers and cyclists in the summer. The Dolomites Mountains around the Hut Piz Arlara offer a variety of opportunities to sports enthusiasts all year round. Even from a distance the modern, curved wooden hut stands out. Guests enjoy its warm, cozy atmosphere and its special flair. The rooms inside the Piz Arlara are paneled with old barn wood from the neighbouring villages. On cold winter days it is quaint, cozy and warm. Large windows let in plenty of light and overlook an amazing landscape, providing unobstructed visibility to the surroundings. The spacious sun Terrace offers plenty of space to relax and a 360° view over the Dolomites.

We went several times during our recent ski trip. Brilliant views from deck, fortunately sunny. We tried several dishes, schnitzel was a bit tasteless, lasagne was heavy, sliced steak with rocket and sauté potatoes a bit cold but tasty, strudel and vanilla sauce the best in Alta Badia, coffee great. Had a bit of a run in with one waiter who thought he was a "character" and in his theatrical flourishes he demolished a pile of glasses over my wife, wine, water, broken glass everywhere. Bit of an idiot really. Nevertheless would go back for strudel alone.
