Hotel Hornbækhus is a place of meetings. Whether you are vacationing, discussing important issues with your colleagues or hosting a big wedding party, Hotel Hornbækhus is the place to meet. Here, 1904 meets 2018, furniture from the past meets colourful textiles, the sea meets the beach and activities meet the calm pulse of the seasons. The hotel has 36 rooms on three floors, and they are all designed by EEN who have decorated them with Nordic furniture clad in colourful textiles. Under the roof on the second floor you can make yourself comfortable underneath the sloping walls looking at the crowns of the trees outside. Almost all other rooms have access to the garden or a balcony. Breakfast and lunch is served daily, and the sharing dinner is every night at seven o’clock. Naturally, one can always drop by for a cup of freshly brewed coffee and a piece of home-made cake. If you come by car, it is less than an hour’s drive from the airport and around 40 minutes from Copenhagen.

Reviewed By ogkioumesA very traditional and unique boutique hotel. I really liked it but the fact that the food menu was limited and very specific every day annoyed me a bit. Only Danish dishes. Overall I would recommend it for a weekend getaway nearby the beach of Hornbaek.

Reviewed By 189541Cristina1983The average age of the people at the krog was 60-70 years old. The person at the reception was nice and the table settings were traditional. Menu was bilingual english danish and the food was served quite fast. They have a loppemarked where you can buy some garden decoration. The size of the dish was ok and the fries and plaite was tasty. The beef was average and apple crumble was fine. We did not order any alcoholic drinks and paid around 700dkk including dessert. The place is very cool to show to visits and eat some typical danish food.

Peace full and beautifully situated in Nordsjælland 45 min from Copenhagen. Totally restored in 2016 in timeless Scandinavian style. The rooms are all light and spacious. All including a lovely bathroom. Nearest restaurant is situated 500 meters away. Nearest golf course is 1,5 kilometers away.

Reviewed By skilli15We had a very enjoyable stay. On arrival, check in is at the lovely, thatched hotel, Gerlev Kro, at the corner of the road leading up to the accommodation. We were given a key code for the front door of Femhøj, and a key code for our room. Our room was lovely and bright and overlooked the large central courtyard. The beds were very comfortable and the room was spotless. The bathroom was a really good size. The area around is very peaceful. Tea, coffee and juice are available all the time, free of charge, in the breakfast room area. From there, there is access out on to the courtyard, where there is plenty of seating. Breakfast was good and replenished when required. We had our evening meal back down at Gerlev Kro, which was excellent. Great food. We would certainly stay here again.

Slow time
Reviewed By groeriStaying at Danish Kro while on vacation is always a treat, although too many of them nowadays seems more like a standard hotel than a kro. This is not the case here. The kro is quite old, family run with just a few rooms. Clean and tidy rooms, although it seems that the furniture is a result of more than a few visits to secondhand shops. just accept that, and you'll have a good time. Staff is very friendly, doing the best they can to help you. We told them needed gluten free bread for breakfast, and next morning they had baked that for us. No destination charging available yet, and a bit tricky to get your car charged in the area, since there are no AC or DC stations in the town.

Reviewed By BexellA kro in a little village. We just pop up one late afternoon for a room for one night. Ok room, very Good food and wine. And very Nice hosts. Maybe the room was a little bit overpriced bit a very good breakfast was inkludera . 100 meters to supermarket .

Lovely Hotel, Friendly Staff and Great Location
Reviewed By TravellingDaveBStayed here for just one night on a short visit to Helsingor. A very friendly welcome and a good room. Very clean. Bed was comfortable. The location is perfect, right in the centre of town, but on a fairly quiet street. The station and ferry terminal are just several minutes walk. I really like this hotel and would definitely stay here again if I ever return to the area. Recommended.

Var i kontakt med ejeren flere gange telefonisk og på mail da jeg havde behov for yderligere overnatning. Meget nemt at komme igennem. Delekøkken hvis man har behov for det.

Nothing to complain about - not much to be excited by.

A small outside area with chairs and a table is absolutely a pluss in summer. Nice bed, but an awful shower curtain. Clean - as one should expect. Nice warm rolls for breakfast. Very sweet girl in the reception, helpful and kind.
