The hotel was recommended to me by a colleague who had stayed here before, as has stayed since... it did not disappoint. From the moment I arrived I was made to feel welcome, like I was part of the family. The rooms were well maintained and clean, the room I had [212] was lovely and quiet, the food was fresh and tasty... what more could you want. All staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. I will definitely be going back.

Situated on the main street in Cookstown, the Oldtown Inn offered a two, bedroom apartment with continental breakfast in room for an astonishingly reasonable rate. This was exactly what we were looking for as we were attending a late night event in the area and did not want to either face a two hour drive home or have to be careful not to disturb the people in the next room of a hotel. As the event was expensive we were also keen to find budget accomodation. We booked and were told to pick up the keys at the Inn as the apartment was numerically a few doors away. On arrival we were a bit dubious as the Inn itself did not have a reception and we had to ask the barmaid for the keys. This proved to be no problem and she led us through a side entrance and across a car park to the entrance to the apartment. This was a door with the legend ‘Tax accountantl above it, leading upstairs to the apartment. This was indeed two bedroomed, with a small but well equiped kitchenette, shower room, table, and ferociously efficient heating and air conditioning unit. The small bedroom had the table and chairs in it along with a single bed. The very large second bedroom had a double bed,tv, wardrobe etc,and strip lights which seemed to suggest the place was in the throes of being converted from an office. Towels and bedding were provided. The kitchenette had a kettle, toaster, microwave , and a selection of cereals, juice ,bread and spreads. Secure parking was available behind the Inn and effectively outside the apartment. The only hiccup we faced was that check out was advised as being between 9and 11 am and we wanted to leave at 9. However , the Inn was locked until 11... We managed to contact the owner by phone and were told to post the keys through the letterbox at the Inn. This may seem obvious but we wanted to make sure. We were told at this point that the apartment was a work in progress, but it as absolutely ideal for our trip.

This beautiful manor is a place to rest and recharge the batteries. The large grounds are well maintained where you can relax strolling around or simply sitting outdoors; taking in the peace and quiet. If you love "old world charm" you will not be disappointed inside where you will find a large fire place and very comfortable furnishings before ascending the grand staircase to your room. Both our room and bathroom were very spacious and the thick fluffy towels were heavenly. Evening and breakfast menus gave the guest a pleasing variety to chose from. Everything on our plate was delicious! The staff were very welcoming and professional. We'd definately recommend a stay here. Debbie & Kieran from Australia

If you're looking for a quiet, cozy cottage while trekking through the north of Ireland, then look no further. Nuala does a fantastic job and these cottages are just perfect. The cottage was very clean and warm, with a kitchen, washer, dryer, and comfortable beds which are perfect after a day of adventuring. There was also a flat screen tv and she has wifi also. If you've never stayed in a cottage, this is a great start and I'd recommend it!
