Perfectly located just 20 metres from Coogee Beach, Coogee Sands Hotel & Apartments is a 4 star property with a selection of Studio rooms, all with kitchenettes (microwave, sink, crockery, cutlery) and apartment style accommodation. The Hotel offers complimentary undercover parking (subject to availability), wireless internet, 24 hour Reception and a Rooftop Sundeck and BBQ overlooking the ocean for guests to enjoy. Enjoy the vibrant local cafe culture of one of Sydney's most picturesque beaches.
Entering the foyer I was greeted by the most welcoming staff after a long trip. The location was beautiful and so central. Room was larger than expected and my only criticism would be the tiny size of the bathroom which didn’t help having the folding bathroom door that took up the already tiny space. I am a small person so can’t imagine how an average or larger person would be able to fit.

Thanks to all the staff for hosting a fabulous CDAA conference and looking after us on our extended stay. Particular thanks to Mary. And a shout out to Ben who tried to keep a roudy rugby room 2 door down quiet....not successful with party still going at 1.30am!! Looking forward to coming again.

If it's a Sydney beach hotel you're after, there's none better located than Dive Hotel. It's 20 minutes drive from Sydney Airport and the City. It's a door-to-door bus ride away to the City, Opera House,NSW Uni, Randwick Racecourse, Aussie Stadium, and Cricket Ground. And it's a frisbee throw away to parks and pools, clifftop walks and Coogee's thriving restaurant, pub, club and cafe culture. It featured in Travel & Leisure USA, Conde Nast Traveler, NY Times,Time Out, Lonely Planet, London Observer and Guardian.Surf the net to your heart's content, thanks to free Wi-Fi. It's just one of the practical things that a Dive room provides. No expensive mini-bar, but a well-equipped kitchenette, with a fridge, microwave, tea, coffee and milk etc. There's free-to-air cable television, and a portable CD player. All rooms have aircon and a state-of-the-art stainless steel and blue tiled bathroom with a decent-sized hairdryer and a grown-up iron and board. Please note that there are 2 dogs on hotel premises.
Choose another place, No staff at reception, climb the narrow stairs, open the big heavy door, trip up the angled metal plate in the floor, decipher the instructions to get your room key from a locked box, struggle up the narrow old school wooden stairs into grey dim corridor. The room was poky and small. No art work, tiny bathroom. The room was grey and dark, no natural light. No remote for air-conditioning, no USB charger, no number provided for the managers, no response from my email to management. Not cheap.

If you're seeking 3 star affordable accommodation, our Pub-Style rooms, located above the main hotel building, are perfect for those wanting to be close to the action. Please note that our Pub-Style rooms may be subject to hotel noise from the bars below, and are accessed via stairs only. Check-in at 9 Vicar Street, Coogee. The Boutique hotel reception is open 24 hours per day.
Service was totally horrendous! I will not recommend this place to anyone... you get better service at the Macdonalds around the corner. Save yourself a bad time!!! Wanted to visit this place for a long time and left completely disappointed!

Two accommodation styles in one amazing beach side hotel. The Coogee Bay Hotel has welcomed guests and visitors since 1873. For a young country such as Australia this is a significant achievement for any establishment. Coogee is a beach suburb located only 8km south east of Sydney's central business district, and has been popular as a beach side resort town since it was connected to Sydney via public transport in 1902. Today Coogee's proximity to Sydney Airport and to Sydney City, along with its popular swimming beach, ensure that it continues to thrive as a hub of restaurants, cafes, and hotels which are all located within a short walk of the beach. The Coogee Bay Hotel has recently invested in our classic pub rooms located above the bar, and our new Coogee Bay rooms offer a casual, playful, relaxed beach side stay. Perfect for those who want to spend a lazy sunny afternoon in our beer garden, and then dance the night away to a live band. Some rooms have access to a stunning balcony opposite the beach from which you can enjoy the sea breeze, and take in all of the local sights from the comfort of your own room. The Coogee Bay Hotel also boasts a 4-star Boutique hotel located behind the main property at 9 Vicar Street, Coogee. The Boutique hotel is a hidden gem, and it is popular with business travellers, couples enjoying weekend escapes, and families bringing the kids to the beach during the holidays. Offering spacious and luxurious accommodation, the Boutique hotel feels more private and intimate than the rooms above the bar. With two styles of accommodation, a sports bar, beach side Brasserie, beer garden, Selina's live music venue, and private function & meeting spaces, the Coogee Bay Hotel can cater for all of your needs. We look forward to welcoming you to our wonderful hotel during your next visit to Coogee.
When I first arrived it was raining and there was no clear indication of where the reception was and when I eventually found it the receptionist said “oh I saw you lost and was going to come down but the rain”- I laughed this off. The room is basic and I found children’s sand toys under the bed showing the room isn’t cleaned properly. While there the staff don’t even say hello and at night you must come through the gambling area to get back into the hotel and on two occasions I had to bang on a door to get the attention of a bar man who was cleaning up to get back into the hotel. While staying the fire alarm went off at 7.30am and stayed going off for about 40 minutes! I had to call reception and say this is going off at this hour why ! I had a security man and receptionist knock on my door come into the room and the receptionist said “we got them fixed I don’t know why it’s going off” … it remained going off and then two firefighters arrived to again check the room. I got no apology for the fact a faulty fire alarm went off in my room waking me at 7.30am. I just think it’s a very basic hotel and it’s extremely over priced.

We have stayed in a double room for 2 nights between Christmas and New Year. All the other hostels insisted on booking at least 5 - 7 nights so we were very pleased to find this place. The owner Rose welcomed us with a big smile and couldn’t have been more helpful. The location is amazing, just 5 minutes from the beach, a couple of minutes from a supermarket and a choice of cafes and restaurants. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean and the WiFi free and fast. The hostel is constantly improving, at the time of our stay, they were installing capsules for single travellers. I would not hesitate to recommend this hostel to my friends and if I am lucky enough to come to Sydney again, I would be more than happy to stay here.

Beachside accommodation in Sydney is available at AEA The Coogee View Beachfront Serviced Apartments. As your premiere choice for self-contained holiday accommodation in Sydney, The Coogee View is located right on Coogee beach. With a sunny northerly aspect overlooking the beach, The Coogee View is the perfect hotel alternative for families looking for more spacious beachside accommodation in Sydney. Our beachfront serviced apartments are available as 1 bedroom, 2 bedrooms and 3 bedrooms. Coogee has a vibrant seaside atmosphere all year round.
We stayed at the facility over New Years for a period of 12 days in a 2 bedroom sea view apartment on the 8th floor. The location is superb and the views of the beach and ocean are simply fantastic! It’s probably one of the best locations in Coogee. However, the apartments and the overall facility is run down, the kitchen and bathrooms are very outdated and many items are out of order. The beds and mattresses in the bedrooms are of a very bad quality and not suited for young adults or visitors who appreciate a good nights sleep. The cleanliness of the apartment on the date of arrival was unacceptable and it took two days of ventilation and cleaning to clear the fowl smell. Would only stay there again if renovations are undertaken and other changes are made to the offering. In fact, would even consider a higher price pints if these are addressed adequately. Regardless of this review, our stay in Coogee otherwise was superb and we thoroughly enjoyed the beach, food offerings and the surroundings.
