The 4 star hotel "Corte Altavilla" is an old medieval court situated in a residential area of the historical centre of Conversano, (City of Art). It stands on a hill, 8 km far from the sea, near the area of the "trulli" and the "grottoes." In 1100 beautiful and young Sibilla d'Altavilla lived here, who were Roberto Courtehouse's wife, the son of William II the Conqueror. Sibilla, missed queen of England, is buried inside the cathedral of Rouen, in Normandy.Following a complete restoration in 2002, a very unusual complex of antique dwellings, located within the walls of the medieval Altavilla court, has been transformed into a receptive centre with hotel rooms, elegant suites and apartments where original stone built rooms with whitewashed plasters, barrel vaults and wooden beams charm the guests. Nothing is made by chance: attention to the details, to the smallest things, in order to make everything elegant and sumptuous, between the past and the present, an harmonic contrast between the modern and the old.Discretion, kindness and helpfulness of our staff at the reception meet your needs to suggest itineraries from the cliffs of Polignano to the "trulli" of Alberobello, from the landscape of the Itria Valley to the "grottoes" of Castellana, and then the "white city" of Ostuni, Frederick II and Castel del Monte, the "rocks" of Matera, Salento, farmhouses, rocky churches: in a word: Apulia. The 31 dwellings (suites and rooms) are equipped with all modern comforts: direct control air conditioning, satellite TV, direct telephone, safes, free internet wi fi, fire alarm, minibar and kitchen area (available in some rooms). On request we have a Junior Suite with hydromassage bath tub. Also available: solarium terrace, concierge/information desk, bikes, transfer facilities and chauffeur, daily excursions by car or on boat all around the area; thermarium spa, cookery course and parking area. In the morning at our restaurant on the terrace with a beautiful view of the old town, you can have breakfast buffet: orange juice, yoghurts, different cereals, croissants, cakes and tarts, bread of a local baker's, toasted bread, marmalades, seasonal fresh fruit, taralli, cheese and salami, eggs. For dinner our chef offers a typical regional cuisine using fresh seasonal products and every day it proposes different menus which enclose the history and the culinary customs of our town. IN SHORT: Every room offers the following service: Free internet Wi fi, sat TV, heat/cold air conditioning with remote control, telephone, Internet connection socket, safe, hairdryer, kitchen area (on request in Standard rooms), minibar and smoke alarm. Internet Wi fi free of charge is in available in 100% of rooms and public areas. In the common area: Free Interne Wi fi free of charge, lounge, free Internet point, typical cuisine restaurant on the terrace with the view of the old city, 2 meeting halls, hall with reading area and courtesy cafe, solarium, lift, free parking service, thermarium spa. Furthermore, we have at our guests disposal: rental bikes, transfer service, organized excursions around Apulia, cookery course, boat or cruise excursions, riding school at 5 km far, olive oil bottles on sale with Corte Altavilla mark.
This little gem of a hotel nestles in a small ancient alleyway off the square outside the church. The rooms were lovely and comfy and it's ideally situated to explore the ancient town. What really sets this hotel up for a 5 star rating is the friendyness and helpfulness of the staff. The food in the restaurant is top quality as you might expect in Puglia, but the restaurant staff were super helpful even when faced with our group of 15!! Special thanks to Angela who arranged our tour, day visits and transport. A lovely holiday experience. Thank you... we will return!!!

We conceived Iulius Suite to offer you an experience that embodies the philosophy of slow-living, giving you the opportunity to interrupt your daily routine and steep in history.
We had a lovely 2 night stay at the start of our holiday in Puglia. Conversano is ideal an ideal location being a short drive from Bari and has a certain charm which added to our enjoyment. Our room was spotless with a welcome bottle of local red wine. Breakfasts whilst a little on the fussy side for our liking, were served on the roof terrace. All in all a great start to our holiday in lovely Puglia.

Whilst on a cycle tour of southern Italy, I found myself much in need of a room for the night and happened upon Dimore Dimore Del Balzi. The style and charm of the room I was given was well beyond expectations - of a quality found in some of the better designer hotels I've stayed in. A little bit more expensive than usual B & B prices but worth it for what amounted to a very comfortable and spacious suite.

Two enthusiastic young people run this nice masseria between the olive trees on the countryside. The rooms are relatively new and provide in the necessary basic comfort. In the weekend parties can be organized on the property, but while we were there they all ended before 20.00h. And if you take the rooms oriented towards the nice swimming pool you shouldn’t be bothered much at all. The restaurant is in a beautifully restored stable and serves ok food, and breakfast is certainly sufficient, even on the last day when we were alone in the hotel. Normally wi-fi is available in all rooms, but during our stay it wasn’t working. We were helped out with a mobile router. Only disadvantage: the noises of the neighboring rooms can be heard quit clearly, also because of the connecting doors.

We have just returned from a 1 week stay in Parco Dei Manieri. We are a family of 5 (including a 1 yr old baby) and we stayed in their 2 bed apartment. We booked the holiday at the last minute after we had to cancel a holiday in France due to new quarantine rules. We had the most wonderful time. The apartment was light, airy and spacious. There was a steep staircase leading up from front door but we were able to prevent our baby accessing the stairs by laying down chairs on their sides. The hotel sits in an old converted Italian Manor House surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. There are lime, pomegranate and olive trees on site. Everything is pristine clean and well maintained. The pool is to die for. There is a large pool and a smaller cold plunge pool. The owners Francesco, Monica and their adorable daughter Alicia could not do more to help you to feel comfortable. Breakfast is included in the price. The breakfast was light but adequate for us. We suspect it would be fuller were it not for Covid. The coffee was sensational and is included in the cost. We ate lunch on site most days. The food was simple but delicious. Every day a 3 course meal including a pasta dish and followed by meat then melon. There was no “menu’ so so you get what you are given which might be a problem if you were vegetarian or had allergies. So I would recommend speaking to the owners on the first day if you need to. They don’t speak much English but a simple translation app would bridge the gap. The hotel is near 2 small towns- Conversano to the West and Castellana Grotte to the East. Both about 20min drive away. Both contain plenty of restaurants and Gelatarias. Monopoli is 30 mins away. Monopoli is a grand port town with incredible views, history and piazzas. Polignano isn’t another town 30 mins away. Polignano was a our favourite town in terms of its architecture, views and ambience. There is a water park 40 mins away. We can not recommend this hotel and this part of Italy enough.

Bed and Breakfast Cieli di Dante In the historic center of Conversano a few steps from the Megalithic Walls, the Monastery of San Benedetto and the Aragonese Castle, the Bed and Breakfast Cieli di Dante is structured on three independent levels. The Bed and Breakfast has rooms with single, double, triple and / or quadruple, each with private bathroom with shower or Jacuzzi. The name B & B Cieli di Dante takes its inspiration from the location: corso Dante Alighieri 45 and the rooms Venere, Luna and Sole recall the "Skies" of the "Paradiso di Dante". We are waiting for you for an unforgettable holiday in the enchanting scenery of Puglia, a few kilometers from Polignano a Mare, Castellana Grotte, Monopoli and Alberobello.

Wonderful bed and breakfast in a historic building where the ancient and the new blend together in an enchanting place.
I loved staying in this accommodation - it was 5 minutes out of the centro storico - a perfect location with beautiful outlook over a quaint little square with a fountain. The accommodation was roomy with a good sized bedroom and a excellent bathroom and a good sized living room. WIFI was good. The things that would make it even better are a bottle of water, some glasses (made of glass) cutlery and crockery in case we want to prepare breakfast or bring something home to nibble on. The owner Carlo was a real gentleman and extremely helpful and obliging. I would stay here again and I would highly recommend it.
