Where to eat Pub food in Waterbury: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Great place on the Cheshire/Wolcott/Waterbury border for a quick takeout or delivery. But there's more here than your average Chinese place. First they do fresh sushi very well. They also have a few Thai options. Although the offerings are not the same recipes as in a Thai restaurant, they are very good. There's a nice restaurant with table service here too and a sushi bar. They also offer beer, wine and some great sake! I love to stop by here for week night take out but also enjoy stopping with friends or my spouse to eat in Friday night's after work.

Love the large portions and quality of the food. Keep in mind this is American Chinese takeout food at it's best. They will deliver across a wide area of Waterbury but if you order by phone and drive over, you food will be ready. Never had a bad dish from them in 10 years.

Stingy with the crab legs so of you want them to refill the buffet you need to ask and wait
In an age where Chinese restaurants have really changed this is a special Chinese restaurant. This is a restaurant does not like some of the other Chinese restaurants, which frankly don't use the proper ingredients to make their food. Some Chinese restaurants don't use dark meat to make Generals chicken, or white meat to make sesame chicken. In fact some places simply fry up some batter and call it a chicken stir fry dish â. Or worse yet they use golden fingers and put the sauce right on that. That's a shortcut that's not acceptable. New Moon has a storefront that is not very attractive. There is a waiting room, which can only be called a waiting room and not âin restaurant diningâ because it is filled with all sorts of things. And in fact the place does not look super clean. But that is not the case here. The place has had the volume and nothing talks more about cleanliness than heavy volume-things get used things get cycled through often enough that the place really should be considered quite clean. Forget all this and let's talk about the food. The Egg Foo Young at this place is the best I've ever had. They use a concoction in the gravy that is based upon a dark soy sauce rather than a gelatinous gravy. This makes the best Egg Foo Young you'll ever have. Secondly when you order beef with oyster sauce you get a container of beef with oyster sauce not vegetables. That is not that the vegetables are not good-their vegetables are fantastic in the beef and broccoli, or the like. I want to stress that this has remained a really good storefront Chinese food restaurant in the face of many other restaurants cutting corners and not knowing what they're doing. For that I would highly recommend this place if you're going to get takeout in the Waterbury area. Don't let the looks of the place to see view the food is great. Also, all New Moon restaurants are not the same.
