Met my long lost sister I never thought I ever had for lunch the other day.The atmosphere was nice,the waitress very helpful ,and the turkey club I ordered tasty.Like most citys in the north east New Britain is full of places like this ,not all of them this good.Id like to sample more of there food ,especially italian.

I'd lived down the street from Underground Deli for four years before stepping inside for a sandwich. The place has a hipster/college vibe (not surprising, given its close proximity to Central Connecticut State U.), but what really makes it stand out is the sandwiches... almost 50 different ones, many of them with creative names like "The Oinker" and "The Ball & Chain." My favorite is the Journal Square... turkey, bacon, brie, herb-garlic soft cheese, lettuce and tomato on a hard roll.Energetic, friendly staff who won't mind at all if you want to substitute an ingredient here or there.Sandwiches run from about $4.25 to $6.25.
