I usually go there for lunch. The food is very affordable and very delicious. It is a family owned restaurant so be prepared to chat.18 month old Ryan comes over and pretends to take your order with his Uncle, total cuteness! The Lychee Martini is out of this world, it is a must try.
I stopped by the Gold Star to try them out. It is a small place with a limited lobby in front of the counter. It is really set up for pick up and deliveries, but they have two small tables if you want to eat inside.I ordered a steamed shrimp and broccoli combination ($8.75) which came with 5 medium shrimp, vegetables, fried rice, and an egg roll. I only had to wait 10 minutes for the meal. The portions were generous and I thought it was very good. Their menu offers a wide variety of choices at fair prices.Only comment to make is that they did not add utensils or napkins with the order. I was able to grab chop sticks on the way out.

Tucked in a little strip mall, this restaurant provides the typical kind of Chinese food popular in Chinese restaurants in New York and Connecticut. Egg drop soup was just fine. The luncheon specials come with an entree (I chose chicken with broccoli and it was perfectly cooked), a choice of three kinds of rice and soup or egg roll. It is nice that brown rice is one of the alternatives. Just good all around food. This is not a buffet restaurant, that is in the shopping center with Marshall's.
I stopped by the China Garden for an early dinner. After looking over their menu of Szechuan, Cantonese, and Thai dishes I chose the steamed shrimp and vegetables ($10).It came with a box of brown rice, a container of brown sauce, and a large container filled with mixed vegetables and 10 large shrimp. It was more than enough food for me. Everything tasted good and the brown sauce was not salty. There is a counter with a small lobby that has three large tables with chairs if you want to eat in.While there, there was a stream of customers picking up their orders. I was please with my meal and I thought there prices were more than fair seeing the large portions they serve out.
