We are proud to be known as one of the oldest continuously running markets in the state of Connecticut. In the mid 18th century, when packet ships plied their trade along the Eastern seaboard from New York to Boston, we served as an offloading port for fr
I went with my husband and daughter for a quick breakfast on the Friday of a holiday weekend. Everything about this place screams history, community, and great food. It's a market that also serves food. It was hard to decide what to eat because everything looked and smelled delicious. My 9-year-old gobbled up a huge slice of quiche (about 1/4 of the pie). I had an egg sandwich and my husband a bagel. Coffee and tea were good too. Prices are very good, too. We ate on the patio, which has a great view. The market had a nice selection of items. I will definitely stop by again next time I'm in Connecticut!Thank you, Lorraine! We are glad that we were a highlight of your trip to coastal Connecticut! We strive to have a selection that caters to all, and are very pleased that you had a positive experience with your family at the Market! Your feedback is greatly appreciated and we hope you stop by again soon!

Try the lunch special salad sampler (3 or 4 different salads) - your choice from vegetables (orzo salad, shaved Brussel sprouts), protein (curried chicken, egg salad, tuna salad) or various fruit salads. This is a great and quick place to stop in for lunch. On a previous visit I tried less healthy Philly Cheesesteak - this comes in two sections loaded with steak, cheese and onions with a large portion of fries. This seems to be frequented by Westport moms as the dining area was full of them. You aren't seated by the server, you get to pick your own but it was clearly a popular spot as there were only three two-tops available.

Huge variety of food and food-related products, but annoyingly laid out. Wide selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen and some fresh sea food and meats. Prices seem a bit high for just a very slight upside in quality/freshness. They do have good prepared quick meals, but that is the only reason to go there.Trader Joe's has almost the variety, comparable quality, and better prices .
