This is one of the better Indian restaurants. We've tried multiple dishes but have settled on weekends and the buffet as our favorite. Never had anything there I would have said no too. Some things can set your mouth on fire with spicy chili peppers but it's a good pain! Chicken soup is a must. Shrimp, goat etc... Well worth the price of the buffet and very friendly staff. Always clean and never too noisy.

Quality food, Quality service
We went to Taste of India with our family - often we do takeout here but finally decided to dine in with our large group. Everything we ate was a delight - the Saag Paneer, Lamb Saag, Meat Samosa, Chicken Tandoori, and Chicken Tikka Masala. Some of these items were ordered directly from the menu and others came from the Thali plates. We ordered a Vegetarian Thali and one with meat. Thali is an Indian style platter, made up of a selection of various dishes, served on a large plate with 7 different dishes. The Thali is easily shared with 2 people. Oh and the Naan was delicious - warm from the oven and freshly prepared to perfection.Service was great too!!! Our waiter was very attentive - try the Mango Lassi too!!!

I was very impressed by India's menu and it should be made clear that if you don't want to deal with Blueback Square, you can have your meals delivered via Eat24 or GrubHub (for a fee). This is important for those of us that work in the area and have limited delivery options. The menu offers a number of Vegan and Gluten-Free options, which should not be too surprising. My review includes Malai Kofta and Saag Paneer, and the review is mixed. The Malai Kofta (vegetable and paneer balls in cardamom cream sauce for $13.95), which had a delicious flavored sauce, but an odd texture to the paneer balls. In contrast, the Saag Paneer (garlic spinach and paneer cheese for $14.95) was excellent. Both came with basmati rice, which was cooked well. Overall, I'd eat at India in West Hartford again, and recommend to friends and colleagues who are looking for vegan/GF meals in the area.
