I have visited this establishment in person numerous times and have ordered take out many more times...I have always tried to over look the rude service and the late delivery because of their convenient location, (and decent food) but I can't do so any longer. Tonight I had my extended family over (including 4 young children) and we ordered delivery at 5:30pm...we were told that delivery could be expected in 45 minutes, that was fine because even with an hour wait we would be eating by 6:30. Unfortunately our food did not arrive until 6:45pm, and it was cold. When I complained to the driver he apologized stating that he had made a delivery to a town a good distance away first and that's why our food was late and cold. When I called the restaurant to complain I was told by the manager that "there is nothing I can do except fire the drivers"...I told him that if that was the case I would be ordering elsewhere from now on and he said "fine, if that makes you happy"...I would have been satisfied with a simple analogy, but this response was unacceptable...guess it's Kent Pizza or ABC Pizza from now on!

This is a family run pizza place next to the Candy Shop and Wilson's Pub on River Street. They have no liquor license do it is BYOB and there is a package store about 125 yards away. The pizzas are all carefully prepared with fresh ingredients. The crusts are tasy. They have nice salads, we prefers the Greek, which is a large portion. The wings are very nicely done and relatively dry, like I prefer them-not drenched in sauce. They usually have two Ecaudorian dishes, Chalufan ?sp) and another that is meat- both are huge portions and very tasty. They have great lunch deals. They do nice rake-out and Mom, Dad, and daughter work there-all very nice and attentive. We return often- the food is always consistent and fresh.

This was by far the worst restaurant experience of my life. Horribly overpriced. Took over an hour to get our food. Order was wrong. It was ALL BAD. Do not eat here - utter waste of money. The owner should be ashamed. Say SO LONG to SOLO.

I recently enjoy dinner with family members at Marino's in Torrington. Before I start commenting, I would like to point out that I have been living in Italy most of my life, which makes me somewhat of an expert on Italian cuisine. I am always hesitant to eat "Italian" when visiting the USA as things often just don't compare with authentic Italian. I'm pleased to report that Marino's did splendidly with both the quality of food we consumed and service rendered. The locale was nicely decorated with a warm atmosphere. The dining room was spacious and a gas fireplace added to the charm. Christmas trees and decorations were still up and illuminated at the end of February, which I didn't understand, but every day is good for Christmas. Tables were topped with cloth tablecloths and service ware (dishes, utensils and glassware) were of average quality. I learned that the Marino family have owned and operated this restaurant for the past 57 years, making it an icon on the Torrington dining scene. Older family wedding photos were tastefully displayed on one of the walls. We started with a round of Martini cocktails which were both generous in size and perfectly prepared. Our server/owner, Cheryl, described some of the specials for this evening and she provided pleasant and attentive service throughout our meal. After placing our orders, Cheryl arrived with large basket of Italian garlic bread, olives, scallions, cheese and Italian spicy peppers to snack on while our meal was being prepared. House salads came with our entrees and the greens were fresh and topped with a tangy Italian dressing.I asked what type of white wines Marino's had on their wine list and I was pleasantly surprised to find a Sardinian Vermentino - "La Cala." It's rare to find Sardinian wines in the USA and La Cala was a perfect paring for my meal.I started with an order of raw oysters that were served on a bed of crushed ice and accompanied with the usual horseradish, seafood cocktail sauce and lemon wedges. The oysters we perfectly shucked and quite large in size; just the way I like them. I followed this with the Zuppa Di Pesce - Italian fish stew. I was offered the option of having this prepared in a red marinara sauce or a white wine and garlic sauce. I opted for the latter and was served a generous combination of mussels, clams, shrimp and haddock. All was fresh and tasty. Another family member enjoyed one of the daily specials; roasted rack of lamb served with green beans and potatoes. I also tasted the shrimp and garlic ravioli that were flavorful and prepared as one would find in Italy.I ordered a glass of grappa to conclude my meal as I had no room for dessert. The owner suggested that I try something American and I ended up enjoying a glass of maple-flavored Knob Creek Bourbon. There weren't many other customers, aside from a group of businessmen, on this Wednesday evening. I found this dining experience to be most pleasant. I recommend Marino's to the TripAdvisor community and I hope to return to Marino's to try some of the other items on their menu.

Stopped here for lunch during the Fall Festival on September 29th. Sat out front under a canopy and ordered off the menu. Service was excellent. Pizza was loaded with cheese and the crust was delicious! Hand stretched homemade dough. Husband got a huge salad with grilled shrimp. First time here but weâll be back!

We decided to head to Torrington for a visit to Pizza Marzano. There were 5-6 tables available when we arrived at 6:30 You order at the counter and one of the girls sets you up at a table. The service is always good. The price and quality of the food is why we go back. The nickel wine refills Glad you got a nice night out ! Thanks for the support ! Stay tuned and look out for us this spring/summer. We are moving down the road a tad to a little bigger location and better atmosphere. Any issues ever feel free to ask for me . ( Jon ) . We always appreciate a customer .

The food is good, freshly prepared, and always served piping hot. Portions are generous. The menu is sufficiently eclectic to allow for varied tastes. The waitstaff are generally friendly and efficient I have lunch here quite often. Occasionally, my wife and I will catch a quick dinner. Itâs neither elegant nor posh, however a good meal is all but guaranteed. Eat here and enjoy!

My husband and I stopped at Mario's while traveling. It was a delightful find. The staff accommodated all our requests and were very welcoming. The meal was generous, well prepared with excellent flavor/s. The restaurant has a bar area with two other dining rooms. It was lovely to have white table cloths and such pleasant staff. Mario's gave our long drive home a much welcomed respite!

Got together with several other couples for dinner and were pleasantly surprised at how good this neighborhood restaurant is. My veal piccata was wonderful and generous enough for another meal at home the next day. Others in the group had lobster ravioli, eggplant parmigiana, and other traditional Italian specialities and all agreed the food was excellent.
