Reviews on Asian food in New Haven, Connecticut, United States. The home to Yale University since 1701, the city of New Haven is packed with an unrivaled collection of arts and antiquities, with collections ranging from natural history specimens to antique musical instruments. The towering translucent marble cube of the Beinecke Library contains 600,000 rare volumes, including one of the only surviving Gutenberg Bibles. The Yale University Art Gallery is as famous for its collection as it is for its building, a Modernist masterpiece designed by Louis Kahn.

Dozo is I think the third iteration of this Japanese restaurant, and although we try other new haven area sushi, we always return to Dozo. Their fish is fresh, tasty, and skillfully prepared. The sushi and nigiri are never disappointing, and the hot dishes like yaki udon are excellent as well. Wonderful ginger dressing, adequate beer and wine selection, helpful staff. Always willing to substitute the weird things that I like( octopus, mackerel) without complaint. Solid sushi experience.

First opened in 2015, junzi kitchen grew out of a hunger for our childhood staples: northern Chinese food made with healthy, seasonal ingredients. Yet recreating the taste of home has done much more than sate our cravingsâthe amazing power of food in buil
What a great, light, no-guilt lunch! My son and I went for a bite; he had the noodle bowl and I had two bings (beef - cucumber and mushroom -tofu). Good, filling, high quality ingredients. Can't wait to return!

On the negatives: It is a mix of Thai, Vietnamese and even Korean (bibimbap) on the menu (never a good sign). Clearly, much of what is cooked is pre prepared and bought frozen. On the positives: Clean and quite nice ambience - although probably not cooked from scratch the food is pretty good. I had the lunchtime special of spicy eggplant with tofu and ate it all. Good location - happy to eat here again.

Went in because it looked warm. Not only was the food warming, but atmosphere was warm as well. Had veggie pad thai and chicken pad thai. Both absolutely wonderful. Very large portions, so I could not finish. Would definitely go back.

Was convinced to go "because its so good". Upstairs looks different and would be an interesting place to get a meal but they were busy and we got seated in the basement. The basement looks and smells like a basement. The restroom has mold from prior leaks on the ceiling. So getting out of the gate this is not what you want to experience when dining out. Strike one.Batting 1,000 but not in a good way. The water glasses came. On the under side of each glass (3 for 3) there was visible mold and dirt. We we're given chop sticks that showed visible signs of usage by others. Thank goodness they also provide forks. When the food came the bowls and spoons were chipped and the outside of my daughter's bowl was unclean. Visually not what one wants to see at any restaurant. Strike two,The food was just OK. Nothing special and no great flavors. The noodles were no better than noodles from the store. Strike three.I'm outta there and won't be back.

It's always fun to have hibachi with friends and family. We were celebrating a recent graduation. Kumo's is very accommodating to groups. Our girls, who really love sushi, love Kumo's. As always the hibachi chef's were entertaining and skilled in cooking our wonderful dinners.

First-sustainable sushi restaurant in the world. Plant-based, future sushi. Inventor of the Sweet Potato Roll. Established in 1982. Family owned.
Unlike any restaurant I've ever visited, Miya's is an experience that starts with a creative menu. We were here to celebrate our daughter's graduation from Yale. We loved the casual atmosphere and the superb food. Our waiter answered all our questions, and one of the chefs came to our table to show us a moonfish filet, which has amazing ''starry night'' skin. Random, but cool! This is an expensive place, but worth the investment, because I will never forget this dinner. Well played, Miya's. Well played.

There were so much creative process on the bed. The tuna sandwich was a big hit. I enjoyed their fresh scallop. Our server was accommodating which I always appreciate. It was a Friday night and kind of empty. Not sure if thatâs the restaurant or just a New Haven thing. Reliable choice for sushi but not something to rave about.

The food at this restaurant is delicious! It's well-prepared and is served quickly without losing any flavor or freshness. There's a variety of foods for both meat-lovers and vegetarians, as well as unique seasonal specials. The ravioli mushroom dumplings and the vegetarian ramen were really good.
