Fairly-new owners. I hadn't been there in years and now we're hooked on Norm's. The coffee is the best and bottomless. They serve quality food. Perfectly-prepared eggs, sausage, and bacon. Very accommodating and friendly. We've been with family and friends who walk out feeling the same way. Just ate there this morning and won't need to have lunch. Great small diner feel. You can watch your food being prepared !

I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich sans bread. Opted for veggies as my side. Not because Iâm âon a dietâ but specifically because I wanted to have room for pie. My meal was good. The huge slice of blueberry crumb pie was delicious. Fair price. Quick service.

Hot Rod Cafe is a fun and friendly neighborhood bar and restaurant featuring 24 kinds of beer on tap and 24 kinds of wings. Great water view and service!
I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Hot Rod. Nothing to look at from the outside but cozy inside and a wonderful outdoor deck with water views. All three of us tatted our meals as very good. Reasonable prices, great service, good variety. My friend always finds it hard to get Prosecco but they had it. My rose wine frozen slush is was outstanding. The chicken wings were amazing with 20+ sauces from which to choose. Their wraps also were very good. The only down side is on street parking and finding a space can be a challengeonwhen you go.

We just enjoyed a wonderful luncheon celebrating an 80th birthday! The food was delicious, especially the appetizer platter. The service was great also. Nice place to book for gathering...

This place is not a "bakery", more like going into your moms for breakfast. Service was very good. You really don't feel like your at a restaurant. Large menu with many choices. I was let down that they mix in sweet potatoes into their homefries but don't actually list that. They don't have regular rye toast either. $25 for 2 people for breakfast was a bit much IMO. I then purchased a small dessert cookie and it was $5! I loved the atmosphere and such but a bit rich for my blood.

We had a very enjoyable lunch. They had many good options- sandwiches, crepes, salads, bagels, breakfast items, coffee, cold drinks, smoothies and desserts. I had the Spinach Salad- with strawberries, blueberries, Mandarin oranges, sliced almonds, tomatoes and goat cheese with pomegranate vinaigrette. My husband had smoked salad crepe - with cream cheese, capers and fresh baby spinach. We both enjoyed our food. Everything was fresh and tasty. In addition we shared an everything bagel with butter and I had decaf coffee(serve very good coffee). We also had very good service.

Lunch was delightful and delicious. I started with the fig & marscapone in phyllo served on drizzled balsamic vinaigrette. It was a most delicious appetizer. For lunch, I ordered the Baked Stuffed Portabello mushroom stuffed with grilled chicken, roasted vegetable and provolone cheese, served with a tossed salad. It was yumptious! For dessert, the lemon drop cheesecake. Absolutely delicious! and a nice sized portion! The hot food was served hot! and the cold served cold. The food was all beautifully presented. The food portions were ample (I took home leftovers) but not in a wasteful way.The food was served timely manner, not rushed, not lagging. The bread served was soft and fresh. The tables were all full but it wasn't too loud and our waitress was there when we needed her and not when we didn't. She was prompt and polite. When it was time to pay the bill, the waitress took care of it quickly.Highly recommend this restaurant. Fresh delicious food. Professional waitress. Pleasant atmosphere and not really pricey!

I had breakfasted at Somewhere in Time, the sister restaurant of When Pigs Fly located on the Goldstar Highway in or near Groton. It was excellent each time I'd been there. This trip, I am staying in Waterford, CT where When Pigs Fly is located. I had to try it. Like the first place, you get your own coffee from the variety they offer. Grab a mug and pour your own. I had the organic dark roast which was very good. Then you sit and order from a virtually identical menu (one item is different from Somwhere in Time). The servers share tips and it appears each tries hard to hold up their end of it. They're friendly, efficient, remember you, and seem genuinely sincere in their "Welcome back"!There are other places in the area that specialize in breakfast. I've tried several including Sweeties in New London and The Shack in Waterford. The food at each is good. But, the overall experience at When Pigs Fly and Somewhere in Time was better for me than the other places. Prices are pretty much the same at all of them.

Only negative was the lack of parking, had to park a block away.Service was fantastic, I wish I could remember our waitressâs name. She was as pleasant as could be.We shared appetizers which were recommended. Everyone enjoyed their entrees.Definitely would return.

From pastas to seafood to Barbeque ribs brisket pulled pork , Pulled Chicken, Sunday brunch and Happy Hour Menu
Just on the western fringes of Niantic, with excellent free parking, is Charlies Place. Our early Wednesday evening dinner was a mix of Italian and American dishes that were well proportioned, tasty and reasonably priced. The dining crowd was on the light side (5:45pm ?) and the service was excellent. We had a 7pm appointment in the village and the waitstaff accommodated that requirement with a smile. We'd be pleased to come back and dine again.
