An outstanding place in rural Connecticut. Charming room, excellent food. Loved the menu and the thoughtfully chosen and extensive wine list. Everything the four of us had was excellent. The burrata and beet salad was particularly good. The Huet vouvray sec was terrific and very fairly priced at $57. Service was professional, efficient and very friendly. Be sure to make a reservation, because the word is out about this superb dining spot.

Friends invited me to join them for dinner here recently and I had driven by the Stagecoach a number of times but never went in until now. I'm sorry I waited so long. The setting is small and intimate, lots of wood...old building...low ceilings..a romantic location for that quiet dinner with someone special. The wait staff was young but attentive and very helpful when it came to choosing our dishes. We shared a number of appetizers and all were terrific...then the main courses. The waitress recommended the pork chop to me...so I went for it and thanked her later for the tip...it was succulent, tasty and easily the best pork chop I've ever had. I was amazed at how good everything was and also that in a small and busy restaurant it was also easy to have a conversation at a normal voice level.Pricing is a bit higher than some places locally but the food and service are worth it. I can't wait to go back again.

The quality of the food, the service and the wine list all exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed the many course tasting menu with wine pairings. The quality of the food and all over ambiance is unique (the room is entirely lit by candlelight, hardening back to the days that this was a stagecoach Inn). Highly recommend and look forward to returning!

While maintaining its firm roots as a comfortable and casual restaurant, Mountainside Cafe's new Farm-to-Table menu highlights fresh seasonal ingredients from the community while including healthy updates to old favorites, introductions to new classics, a
What a little gem of a place! We have eaten here before and will always return. From the wonderful service, charming graphics on the walls to the creative menu (and delicious food) this is our favorite lunch spot in Connecticut. We loved the turkey sandwich and Caprese salad--highly recommend. And on your way out, don't forget to pass by the cookies, scones, and brownies on display. My peanut butter cookie was one of the best I've ever tasted. We love Mountainside!!

We were at Great Falls Brewing Next door, and they recommended this place and said we could get food to go and eat in brewery which we did. Should of went some place else. The fries were terrible, dark brown/black, limp and full of grease. the hamburger was 1/4 inch thick and no taste. The bacon, lettuce, tomato and roll were fine. DW had a grill cheese and tomato and she no taste, terrible compared to the one she couple days ago in Southwick Ma. The brewery was good, and did have good snacks.
My family and I have been eating here about every two weeks since they opened. The chicken salad and BLT are my personal favorites. The soups are wonderful, too. The food is always fresh and hot and delicious! Homemade baked goods are a real treat, too. Really pleasant atmosphere.

Pizza here is average and the setting could be anywhere, as the windowless interior gives no hint of the pleasant Ct-Ma setting. Glad it's there but could be so much better! Imagine this many tables with Baba Louies pizza, say. And Canaan a more relaxing town than Great Barrington.

We are summer residents of northwest CT and we discovered the Blackberry River Baking Company last year and this year it is even better than we remembered. The breads, croissants, english muffins, are all baked in house. The sauces, the jellies are all homemade. The Italian Eggs Benedict is my favorite there. It includes prosciutto, eggs, and pesto hollandaise sauce on a toasted homemade english muffin. What a tasty delight! Their homemade raspberry jelly is so good I asked to buy it but it is only available in house. My partner loves the croissants and the traditional eggs benedict.

Excellent service. Excellent food! Fairly priced! We stopped here when looking for a spot for a quick late breakfast and we were not disappointed..

For over a decade, Roma Pizzeria has been Canaan's destination for good food and great memories! Relax with friends or family in our comfortable atmosphere while you grab a bite to eat, or call in for a delivery. Our menu features a variety of items from
We stopped at Roma after a nice hike at Bear Mountain. The restaurant is on Rte 44 in Canaan and you cannot miss it! Our meatball pizza and grilled chicken salad were very good and there was enough to bring home for leftovers. Our server, Stephanie, was very nice and she was handling the whole restaurant by herself. Roma was a good place for lunch and worth a stop even if you are just passing through town.
