Super pricey. We paid 60€ for a grilled bass (which was very good) with a (very) few undercooked and badly presented vegetables.
The service was even worse. We had to wait a lot for our meal and the waiters took very long to notice us, we almost had to scream for their attention. Also we had no napkins or bread.
We will never come back to this restaurant.

We drove from Portimao to Coimbra and decided to stop here for lunch. It is out of the way and it is in the middle of the countryside. But once you enter, the pleasure begins. The food is excellent and different. We had pigeon, rabbit pie and octopus. This is a 5 star restaurant and not expensive at all. Highly recommend it.

If you're looking for a different approach towards portuguese food try this restaurant in Comporta, near Troia. It offers a very comfortable room with a menu that is far more varied and original than most restaurants in this region.
We get fantastic risottos that take the best of local ingredients and several fish delicacies that taste very good.
In the end you should try the artisan italian ice cream. Just wonderful.

The Comporta Café opened its doors in October 2002. It is deployed in an area of sandy beach Floodgate, Troia Peninsula, which has as its main objective to serve you well. Lets have lunch or dinner on the seafront, in a pleasant environment where reigns good taste, good service, kindness and good tailoring of Portuguese and international cuisine. Not forgetting the good sound and the amazing view of the Atlantic Ocean, this is a place where you relax and enjoy life.
Such an amazing location and the walk along the walkway from the car park to the restaurant is magical in the evening.
Despite the warning of mosquitos we sat outside and this is a general issue with the area, so no fault of restaurant. However, 2/3 weeks before you go, start taking Vitamin B Complex and this seems to make you unattractive to mosquitos and we only had one bite in the week we stayed in the area.
Staff were so friendly and we would love to go back there in June or July when DJ is playing until the sun comes up!
The pasta and prawns we had were delicious and very fresh and price was reasonable at €94 for starters, main courses and drinks.

A crazy-day cycle from Troia to Comporta lead us to this amazing restaurant. We were hungry after a long and hot ride and were happy to wait outside (with a glass of wine) for a table to become available at this popular spot. The mussels and choco were delicious. Probably the best during our two-week stay in Portugal. We chatted with (who we presumed was) the owner, whose family had relocated to Comporta after leaving Romania. He shared his pride in their offerings. The pride was evident in everything they served. Thanks for an amazing experience.

The place is dated and a little run down but the tablecloths and cutlery were clean. We ate a fantastic lunch of fresh tomato and mozzarella salad, grilled shrimp and huge portions of grilled sardines with boiled potatoes. We washed it all down with big glasses of cold beer. The fish chef worked on the sidewalk off a small grill in 35degree heat putting out amazing seafood and we all agreed it was the best seafood we ate so far. Service was typical Portuguese and our server spoke great English and helped us with our vocabulary. The check was $68euro for six people.

It's not easy to find a genuine place around Troia / Comporta since this paradise was discovered by the world. The old places where some years ago you found genuine food are gone and nowadays you get lounges, sushi spots, or expensive fish restaurants. There is no genuine Alentejo food at fair prices like this place . Do not except any fancy tables or gourmet food . You will get grilled meat, mainly pig , migas, some rices and Alentejo simplicity . 20 € each for a very good meal Deserts and lots of wine included . Abanicos is a must have dish !

We ate here for breakfast several times since our hotel didn't include it. The make their own fresh orange juice which is delicious. The toasts and coffee are very tasty as well. They don't speak English but we were able to manage by learning a few words in Portuguese.
