Find out what Spanish restaurants to try in Getafe. Getafe (Spanish pronunciation: [xeˈtafe]) is a city in the south of the Madrid metropolitan area, Spain, and one of the most populated and industrialised cities in the area. It is home to one of the oldest Spanish military air bases and the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Within the city is the Cerro de los Ángeles, or Hill of the Angels, a site considered the geographical center of the Iberian Peninsula. Getafe is located 13 km south of Madrid's city centre, within a flat area of Spain's Meseta Central in the Manzanares River basin.

Not only they booked a table for us the day before eventhough they were up the walls but also the owner was quite attentive and able to recommend dishes as we were clueless, he really could not do enough for us, place was full but not too noisy , bread was lovely and homemade, we had the ratatouille, and it was the best iâve ever had, the cachopo and the hamburguer were just out of this world, i had the pear custard and my sister had the chocolate cake with brandy, heavenly, and all for 50 â¬, a place where iâll definitely be back, highly recommend it to anyone

"Mediocre" is a good word for this restaurant. While cozy and the owner very gracious, we did not have a good experience. This restaurant actually comes close to an American version in that you can order meals for each that are not "tapas" and are not a series of "First and Second plates" you find in Spain. While the Cod fish was an unbelievably good sized portion and delicious, my stuffed chicken was not properly cooked.

Thrilled we found this wonderful restaurant during our stay (enrolling daughter for her semester abroad) in Madrid/Getafe, Spain! Can't say enough about how delicious, fresh and reasonably priced the food was, along with the generous portions and cozy, family oriented feeling we experienced in this restaurant! The Tapas area was constantly FULL of people, especially on soccer game nights. This restaurant is tied for the #1 spot in Getafe in our opinion! The ultra fresh, lightly dusted with flour Calamari rings (they were HUGE!) will alone make you come back for more (we dined there 3 times during our 2 week stay!). The Dorata with a roasted red pepper sauce on top were exquisite! We ordered the asparagus revuelto and then again the asparagus with rock salt/olive oil that were absolutely the largest, freshest, sweetest asparagus we've ever tasted! Don't even get me started on the pork chops! Wash it all down with a tasty sangria and you've experienced one of the best meals around!

While this restaurant rates #1 in Getafe for the time being, I don't believe this restaurant lives up to this expectation. We arrived on a Monday night for dinner (it was empty), excited to have the "Secreto Pork" and the Cod fish that were on the menu; they were out of both. We had a ham and mushroom appetizer that was delicious and came, very artistically, in a sardine can with the top. The ham was excellent tasting and the sauce as well. For dinner, after getting over my disappointment of no Secreto Pork, I chose the Chipirones for the first time (squid, very calamari-like) that were grilled to perfection and tasty over a bed of "pisto" - vegetable mix. My daughter ordered the Fabada Asturiana, but they apparently forgot and it was just as well, because of our annoyance. For dessert, we asked what was good, and instead of just saying what they were out of, he was probably praying we wouldn't choose the one they were out of....but we did, even unknowingly....lol....they were out of the tiramisu. The Coulant (chocolate lava cake) came cold in the middle. "Si te esperas, te lo hacemos" is their motto, but it should be: "si te esperas, no lo tenemos."
