Some may be surprised to find it’s a top romance destination—but after all that outdoor exercise, who wouldn’t want to repair to a luxurious hotel room or a cozy, firelit bar?
Things to do in Aspen
The Lounge is the restaurant in the lobby of the Limelight Hotel. The drink menu is large; the food menu is limited. They have 11 types of small pizzas and a hand full of other dishes like roasted chicken, crab cakes, butternut squash hummus, and mac and cheese. The Lounge gets busy in the evening and seems to be a local gathering spot since it is roomy and very comfortable. There is music on some evenings and it is a very relaxing spot. (Most of the restaurants in Aspen are pretty cramped, so if you want to relax on a couch or have some room, this is a wonderful location.) There are a number of good restaurants in Aspen, and we ate here because we were staying at the hotel and the weather was bad so we decided to not venture out. We had the pizza (since that is half the menu) and the pizzas are good (not great). They were about $16 each. I did notice that a number of people did do take out with the pizza, so it is obviously a popular dish. We might have been a bit harsh in judging them since we just returned from Rome for a week. The servers were very quick, helpful, and accommodating (as were all the staff at the Limelight). If we stayed at the Limelight again and were tired or the weather was bad or there was good music playing, we'd eat here again.
SO, located on the top floor of the Aspen Art Museum is a great spot for lunch! Great the Shiguru-Ban designed facility is interesting architecturally and affords stunning views of Aspen Mountain and Independence Pass. SO features an organic local cuisine simply prepared. The cheese board offered a nice selection of cheeses but the portions were tiny, the Olive oil cured tuna salad was good, albeit slightly plain and flavorless. The standout item on the menu was the espresso walnut brownie! It was heavenly decadent! They have a nice selection of wines by the glass. It's the perfect spot for morning or afternoon coffee or a glass of wine.

$50 for 4 breakfast sandwiches. Counter person totally ignored the nuances of our order despite the high prices and even though place was empty I was served a barely toasted english muffin and half cooked bacon (i asked for crispy) and watery eggs. Disgusting.

I love Spring Cafe for its excellent healthy salads and veggie dishes, and could eat there every day, but because itâs so good, and not very big, it can get VERY CROWDED, especially at lunch. And as Aspen is a pretty health-conscious place, it is very popular. Give yourself plenty of time if you go between 12:30 and 2 because you may have to wait 20+ minutes for your food. Although there is seating both inside and out, you need to order and pay at the counter.

I may be from Florida but I think it's kinda crazy to keep the front doors open on a 40 degree morning. Also it's Aspen but that was definitely the most money I have ever spent on breakfast that was nothing to write home about.

Aspen's iconic J-Bar (short for "Jerome Bar") remains the town's social hot spot, with its lively yet casual dining atmosphere. Ski bums, socialites, cowboys and luminaries - from members of the Tenth Mountain Division to the late Hunter S.Thompson gather
Service with a smile from friendly Ted! Had a lovely dinner all tasted yummy. Everyone enjoyed their meals.
