Tried Lucy's while passing through. This is a great place for authentic Mexican. We had the carne Asada burrito, it was huge and included guacamole; homemade tortillas, salsa, etc. The beans were great, as well as the chicken taco! FYI.. No fountain drinks here, pop only sold by the can. Definitely a place to try if you're passing through Lamar.

We walked in 20 minutes before closing and offered to leave. Service was friendly and very accommodating! We discovered that their chili verde sauce was just like a restaurant that closed at home, and they offered to sell me a giant container of it! Of course I bought it! We would definitely eat here again!

If you live in the Midwest like we do, this is the kind of well-made, affordable Mexican food you wish you could find more often. A luncheon buffet looked like you wouldn't leave hungry but we opted for ordering from the menu. The house-made salsa with thicker-than-average tortilla chips was quite good. Carne adovada was a winner, too, with lots of tender pork cubes simmered in a red chile sauce that had a reasonable kick. When asked if she wanted red or green chile on her plate of huevos rancheros, my wife asked for a little of both. And both were excellent â an earthy red and a bright green. Definitely worth a stop.
