Fine Mexican Food & Cantina in Lakewood. Locally owned & operated since 1978. Great Happy Hour 4-6:30pm and 10-Close Everynight. 10 great sauces including Gluten Free choices available.
Looks like a ridiculous chain restaurant and it is definitely sub-par Mexican food. I thought âhow could it be bad when itâs the highest rated Mexican Restaurant in Lakewood?â But itâs not good. Service was hostile and neglectful and all of the items- soup, salad, tacos and enchiladas were worse than most. Donât waste your money or time... thereâs gotta be better. At Jose OâSheaâs, we try to make every effort to ensure the freshest and best tasting food in the business. It is disappointing to hear that this was not the case with your recent order. We would love to hear what wasnât up to our standards so we can improve on things. We celebrate humanity. We celebrate individuality. We celebrate relationships and connections. And most importantly we celebrate every human's need for tasty food, stiff drinks and good times. Well, maybe it's not a need, but it's certainly a want. Either
Husband had seen this place reviewed at 5 stars, but our experience was more meh. The menu is electronic and hangs from the ceiling, so hard for a short person with glasses to see. Lots of magazines around, but a paper menu? Hah. Busy place, seating at a premium. Workers are colorful and pleasant, but not mentioning that the spicy queso sauce and subbing potato for rice adds $1.50 and a dollar to the price of the burrito is the sort of thing I loathe in a restaurant. The stickers all over the sneeze guards are fun, but make it hard for a short person to see what extra ingredients are available, and of course there's no listing. Drinks were reasonable at $2 and water is available. Service was fast, but I wish there was an option for people not training for a marathon, like a mini burrito. We might check it out again, as it is close to Union Station, but I was less impressed than I wanted to be.

La Loma began as a family-owned Mexican restaurant in a small brick house just a block away from what became our landmark location for over thirty years, on 26th Ave in Denver. The hilltop restaurant with a view of downtown soon became a Denver staple. So
I had two dinners at La Loma and both were excellent. Great service both nights, excellent food. The chips and salsa are totally addictive and delicious. The first night I had a combo, and I suspect everything will be good (I had chicken taco, cheese enchilada, and chicken chimichanga) and the next next chicken enchiladas with green chili sauce (highly recommended!). Loved the Cadillac margarita. The fact that I went back twice implies I highly recommend La Loma - so much that I've already recommended it to family who visit Denver often.

I walked in for a solo meal here during a business trip to Denver, and got a seat at the bar. This place is super fun. There was a DJ playing an excellent mix of music, great lighting, friendly staff and very good food. The vegetarian Chile Relleno and the Queso Fundido are both excellent. Great choice of beers too. Highly recommended, but be prepared for it to be loud and busy. Not really a romantic first date kind of place!
