Not the most appealing décor, but we locals and military come to this restaurant for its better than average strip-mall food and generous portions. Lunch specials are the most economical, as they typically include soup and a spring roll which are a la carte at dinner. The staff is friendly and efficient.

service was prompt. Food was nice and hot when it arrived. I was there for lunch. The wonton was well done and greaseless. The hot and spicy soup had a weird undertone of sweetness. The Scallops with Hot Spicy Sauce had the same sugar problem. I'm aware that this dish (also found with shrimp) usually has sugar to counterbalance the spice heat, but I thought it excessive here. And the sauce had a sticky, gluey consistency. It was the original Coal Mine Dragon, they say, and separated from the restaurant on Uintah. Though they do have the "Best of Colorado Springs" newspaper clipping proclaiming them Best of the Springs. Unfortunately, the Best of the Springs certificate is at the other Coal Mine Dragon. There is a Panda Express in the same mall, which might be an equal choice.
There is something about a really good helping of fried rice and this place hit the spot! Tastes like what I'm used to from back home! Will be coming back again

We have ordered take out as well as dinned in at Szechuan Panda and the food is always perfect! I really like the General Tso's chicken, always has the right amount of spice! This is our go-to Chinese restaurant in Fountain!
