We love BBQ ribs and we love the baby back ribs at Rib City. It is practically the only entree we order unless the daily special includes ribs and another favorite, like fried catfish. The meal includes two sides, however we usually order a baked potato and baked beans. Green beans, sliced tomatoes, coleslaw and corn are among the other choices. We tried fried okra there for the first time and it was crisp, not greasy or slimy (a common complaint about okra). They have several BBQ sauces to choose from, including a Carolina vinegar and spicy sauce, but we choose the âregularâ sauce that is tomato-y and a little sweet. There are drink specials on different days and include a 25 cent draft beer night and a $2 glass of house wine. Service is always good.

My sister and brother-in-law were visiting and wanted bbq. We went on line and called for New Year's Day. Waitress said they were busy and could probably fit us in. We drove over and tented area was totally empty. Only one waitress. We waited 15-20 minutes. I went up after 10 min to get our menus. Waitress never came to table. It was very chilly temp wise. My brother in law was getting annoyed so we walked out. Will not be returning.

Twice this summer, after driving antique cars in a Saturday morning parade, a small group of us stopped at Bennett's for an excellent lunch. Both times I've enjoyed their sliced brisket, once as a meat platter, once in a bun. Both times, a side dish of fried okra has been prepared just right. The place isn't a dark, smoke-filled dive that's been operating here for sixty years, but it's closer than driving to Kansas City.
