We were having difficulty find a restaurant in Pagosa Springs that served dinner. There are many biker places with much loud music, and there are the restaurants in the expensive hotels that host the 'Springs'. Neither of these were for us. Driving through town searching then, we came upon this Quality Inn with it's own restaurant. It's unusual for a QI to have it's own restaurant, but there is the matter of not too many places for inexpensive dinners in a causal atmosphere, so there is a niche place for this. The bar area was much fuller than the restaurant, and we were seated in the breakfast room. This was acceptable, even if we were the only diners. The food was average, but it was affordable, and the portions were more than enough. We had a large Hawaiian Pizza, which was burnt on the bottom. We waited awhile for our meal. The server was nice, but it was apparent that he was unused to diners coming in for dinner. It was not easy to find this place, and I doubt we would have searched it out, if we had had other choices.

Restaurant and brewhouse next to the beautiful San Juan River in Pagosa Springs
Iâve eaten at the original Riff Raff in the past and wasnât super impressed (except for the beer brined eggs which are amazing). The whole downtown area was super crowded on a late Thursday afternoon so we decided to try this location, mostly because parking was easy and it didnât appear to be very busy. We were seated immediately inside (didnât want to fight the bugs for our lunch if we sat outside) and were greeted by an extremely friendly waitress (wish I could remember her name because she deserves specific recognition). I asked a couple of questions about the beer and she offered to bring samples of anything I wanted to try. After sampling a couple of beers (one of which was the green chili beer and was quite delicious despite me being skeptical about it) I settled on Mans Best Friend and we ordered lunch. My mom and I split the beer-bq bacon burger and the shrimp tacos (itâs actually on the menu as a shrimp roll, but our server said having it in a taco was generally liked better by most customers). Both were excellent! Tacos were large and had a very interesting seasoning and slaw. BBQ sauce for the burger was awesome - nice spicy kick. I generally do not like BBQ sauce and I would have bought several bottles of this to take home if it were for sale. Fries and onion rings were plentiful, not greasy and super tasty. Even though we sat inside you still have a great view of the river. They had a cool music selection playing and the bartender came to check on us to make sure the music wasnât too loud. Our server was perfectly efficient and friendly. We returned two days later and had an equally good experience with completely different staff. They are doing it right here and I would highly recommend giving it a try!

I ate here alone one evening in mid July after a long day of traveling. Sat at the bar and while waiting on my order had an interesting conversation with a nice gentleman sitting next to me. Had a very good and reasonably priced draft beer with a buffalo chicken wrap and side salad that were outstanding. Total bill with tip was just under $19.

Best takeout sandwiches ever!! We were heading out in our Jeep for a full day in the mountains--this deli was recommended to us. The market side was exceptionally clean, the meats and foods fresh and tantalizing. We ordered the Rocky Mountain roast beef, the Smokehouse club (mine), and the Mediterranean gobbler. The sandwiches were HUGH, and sooo delicious!! We finished out with drinks and packaged sides and had an excellent day! This place is a must-do!!

Several very good local beers. Has typical bar too although we had a large Pinnapple, ham and sausage pizza. I like the Ryder Red. The bar food was good and the afternoon music duo was entertaining in years past it was the only brewery in town, now's there's more. It's still good and we'll go back. Sat on the outside which was very pleasant. Had live music by a couple of talented guys. Service was very slow but waitress was apologetic. Ordered Bufflo wings and was not happy. Was not thoroughly cooked. Flavor was ok. I feel this was a better bar than restaurant. Go here to drink but try somewhere else to eat.

We visited Kip's twice in two days with our group, by popular vote. The first time 6 of us were on the patio and enjoyed various street tacos. My brother got the Pilewski, which was huge! Food and drinks, especially the margaritas, were enjoyed by all. The next night our experience was marred a bit by a bartender who really didn't know what she was doing. We sat in the bar waiting for a table, and she had no clue how to make a Manhattan (even when given directions), and diluted the Sangria with soda water! The food was again great, and we loved listening to the live music. So maybe stick to beer and margaritas for drinks, and enjoy the tacos!

We stopped in for a quick dinner while visiting. Happy hour specials were great. Ordered a pizza and some garlic knots. Both were heavenly. Not greasy at all. Crust was on the thinner side, but easily held our toppings. Marinara was flavorful and didn't induce heartburn, which we were thankful for. Wait staff was friendly, prompt and professional, and made us feel like we were at home. We will definitely come back if we are in the area again.
