Was popular with the locals for both drinks and mealsHelpful staff. We both enjoyed our main meals (Salmon and a Steak). Limited vegetable side meal options but this is a problem all across Argentina / Uruguay etcA good place to watch the locals and the setting sun.

We were there and basically had to find the staff to serve us! We had coffee and cake. Neither was very good. Cake was dry and coffee was weak. We would not go back there.

This is like a burger van with seats and tables on the pedestrian pavement. Food cooked fresh in front of you. We enjoyed the hot dog and burger. They didn't take card payment and I didn't have enough cash for the chivito. They did take Argentine pesos or US dollars. Staff very friendly, though no English. Seems a popular place for the locals to eat! Not a bad fast and cheap eat. Go check it out

Situated close to the basilica and ruins of the Governors house, this small sandwich and coffee shop is the perfect place to relax and eat. Offering a decent selection of sandwiches, toasted if requested, well as smoothies, teas, coffees and a good choice of locally brewed craft ales. Very popular and well recommended

Mastra hands you a detailed menu about the different beers they offer and we chose one named "Del mercado". I don't usually drink beer but this one was really good!We also ordered some food. While de pizza was average, the chivito was one of the best in town! Quite a finding!

nice chivito place
This was the best chivito I've had in Uruguay -- at the lowest price. I asked for everything, including mustard and mayonnaise. The mustard was tangy and spicy hot. It's good it was served in an open-ended plastic bag because the juicy deliciousness could drip into the bag instead of onto you.The photo shows the whole storefront -- including a sleeping dog. (People stepped around it.) There are four or five dirty plastic tables in front. Unless you get here at a quiet time, you'll need to take your food to the plaza a couple of blocks west or to the park the blocks away by the river.

The pizza was good and affordable. Price is reflected in the quality and vice versa. HOWEVER, the server messed up our order. Instead of bringing two pizzas, one with an extra topping of mushrooms, he brought one pizza with two extra toppings. SECOND MISTAKE: he did not compensate for the inconvenience and charged for both extra toppings and an extra pizza. THIRD MISTAKE: after begrudgingly fixing the bill, I told him we were not adding tip (normal in Uruguay), but when the check came back, he had went ahead and added the tip anyway. VERY unprofessional! Itâs a shame. We will not be coming back.

This place is second on trip advisor, however I have literally just had the driest, least flavoursome sandwich of my life. Unless you like eating cardboard, I would not recommend.

BOCADESANTO (BURGER-CRAFT BEERS) is not a conventional restaurant, we are dedicated to timely preparation of gourmet burgers, craft beers and cofee. Both our space as our letter, are adapted to the concept we want to convey to our visitors. BDS is located
We was recommended this place by our host and it was a good one!Had great tasting burgers with home crafted beer - served in the garden/backyard of the restaurant. A little more pricey than other places but worth it. Inside and outside seating with good atmosphere - service was friendly and quick.Recommended when in Colonia del Sacramento
