Not often you find a central american restaurant that can prepare a great sauce. That was the case at La Torre last week when we had the Corvina al ajillo (garlic sauce) for lunch. In addition the octopus was wonderful in a dark sauce. If you are in the Portobello area make time for this family owned, clean and comfortable restaurant.

When I imagined how am I going to spend the day in Portobelo it would like to find a little place like this!On the beach, hippie and shabby ,friendly faces...Well... is the perfect combination, clean but adequate decorated with dusty antiques ,accessible and no aggression, feeling like in other spots in these neighborhoods;La Cazuela De Mariscos exceeded all expectations and we declare this the best seafood soup (stew) we ever had!The Creole cuisine, signature is authentic and fit perfectly into the landscape! There is a pirate who is definitely hidden his treasure here:)Thank you!

Totally recommend sitting downstairs near the water. We went to Portobelo just to eat at this place (it was highly recommended by the locals). When we went, the langostinos were not available, so we had the corvine fish strips (deditos de corvina). With the freshly squeezed lime and home made hot sauce, they were so good that we ended up ordering another one. For our main course, we ordered the coconut octopus (this was a fresh tomato base sauce with coconut) with coconut rice. Amazing! We also had the garlic shrimp with "patacones" (green plantains). The shrimps were large in size, but we had to peel them, so I recommend skipping this one. Finally, the place had some spectacular views, and we were able to snap some gorgeous pictures and enjoy a beautiful (though cloudy) Atlantic sunset.
