There are 2,000 years of history in Cologne, and visitors here will find everything from Roman towers to Gothic churches to fine examples of modern architecture. Cologne has a variety of museums, too—check out the Museum of Applied Art, the Museum Ludwig and, if you have a sweet tooth, the Chocolate Museum. Be forewarned, though—the gift shop at the latter will utterly ruin your diet.

I booked a room for 5 nights with free cancellation on booking.com (free cancellation was quite clear on the top of the booking confirmation) and later on, modified my booking (moved it by 1 day) assuming that it should still be with the free cancellation option (since it wasn’t visible on the top of the booking modification confirmation) and then, I had to cancel everything because of business reasons. I’ve been notified by the hotel that’s it’s not with free cancellation anymore (when I double checked, the no cancellation policy was written this time at the very bottom of the booking modification confirmation, in order to purposely mislead a guest). I explained my situation to the Hotel and they didn’t want to know anything about it and took the payment from my credit card anyway knowing that it was almost 4 weeks before the check-in date and that It won’t impact them financially. Hospitality is about customer service first and at this Hotel, they totally did the opposite by being selfish and passive towards my situation. They took almost 1000 Canadian dollars from me as free money for them. I’ve been myself a Hotel General Manager for years and never seen that. Shame on this Hotel’s Management! You don’t represent Hospitality!

We got a room on first floor front side. No chance to sleep all night. For next night we changed the room. Have a look what you get for breakfast. This hotel talkes about sustainability??? The atmosphere indicates a youth hostel but not a 4 * hotel. Price value relation, we paid 356,-€ for two nights, is awful. Never again!

The a&o Neumarkt is located in the beautiful and trendy Altstadt-Süd (Old Town South), with excellent subway links. Nestled between pubs, restaurants, and vibrant multicultural life in one of the most colourful quarters of Cologne, 173 single, double, family, and multi-bed dorms rooms await your arrival. We also off er a cosy lounge with a well-stocked snack bar and tasty drinks. And if you spill any of it, we also have a laundry for you. While you wait, kill some time at the billiards table, or browse the web using the free Wi-Fi.
Great price, stunning room!! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cleanliness level was very high, and there was vending machines by reception, as well as a bar. If I didn’t have an early flight I would of paid for breakfast as it was a great price. I would definitely stay again.

Set just south of the Altstadt, our Premier Inn Köln City Süd hotel is a great base for visiting Köln - or 'Cologne' as it's known in the UK and France. For sightseers, climbing the 533 steps of the Kölner Dom is a must - soak up the amazing city views from the top of this famous cathedral before stopping for a Kölsch on the banks of the Rhine. Get a taste of Köln at the Chocolate Museum, catch an exciting show at the Lanxess Arena, and meet the local wildlife at the Lindenthaler Tierpark. Plus, after ending your day with a romantic walk across the Hohenzollern Bridge, you can head back to the hotel and enjoy a great night's sleep on a super-comfy Hypnos bed.
I've scored this review average purely on the fact that the bedroom and bed is tiny. We had room 407 right by the lift. The room is so small I could open the curtains from the bed. It's a squeeze past the shelf beneath the TV to get around the bed. Then a squeeze past the curtains into the bed. The bed is also only slightly wider than a single. Just for clarity, I'm 5ft10 and 12.5 stone, so not huge lol Other than that, the hotel is good. The bathroom was a decent size. The shower powerful and hot. Complimentary soap The room had a safe and ironing board. Complimentary tea and coffee but no water. Room and therfore coffee was not cleaned / replenished during our two night stay. Extra pillows in the cupboard and if you asked at reception choice of duvet thickness or softer pillows Room despite being next to the lift was quiet. Breakfast was OK. Usual cereals, fruit salad, breads and hams and cheeses. The staff make you fresh porridge and scrambled eggs if you wish. Well when i say fresh, I mean they add a topping to it for you. Staff all friendly and it's only a 15/20 min walk to the cathedral. So location wise it's good. Just a shame Premier Inn have been greedy and squeezed in too many rooms on a floor

Discover Cologne from up close: The 4-star Mercure Hotel Köln City Friesenstrasse is located in the heart of the Rhineland city. All 103 rooms have free WIFI. Our CBH-certified hotel is ideal for your meetings with up to 200 people. The four flexible conference rooms are air-conditioned, with WIFI and the latest technology. The hotel is also in an easy-to-reach location. The main train station is 0.6 miles (1 km) away and the airport 11.2 miles (18 km) away. You can park your car in our garage.
Stayed in the hotel for New Years, had to extend my stay for a few days thank you to the hotel for looking after us. Hotel is in a nice location, the Irish Bar the Jameson next door and plenty of places to eat around hotel. The Cathedral is about a 15 min walk away, main shopping area is around the same. I had a great few of the street from my room and could open the window fully. The bathroom was a bit small and the hot and cold taps were outside the shower. Would have been great if you could connect your phone or could access Netflix on the TV. Only English speaking station is Sky News. I would recommend this hotel to anybody travelling to Cologne.

Situated in Rheinauhafen-the cultural hub of Cologne- 4-star NH Köln Altstadt bridges old world charm and modern architectural delights in this burgeoning business district. Nearby Severinstrasse, Cologne Airport, and major highways makes traveling to and from NH Köln Altstadt and area attractions a snap.
No sleep for 2 nights! We like NH as a brand and the hotel does have some plus points but I have to review the fact that we booked the hotel to sleep in and we got no sleep. The hotel advertised air conditioning in the rooms. We were told it was not hot enough for this to be switched on yet - despite the fact it was 23 degrees outside and we were too hot to sleep! Then there is the proximity to the highway. We could almost touch it so the noise from the cars all through the night kept us awake. There were also some small issues no plug near a mirror for hair styling tools. Only decent mirror in the bathroom (so one person only can get ready) The hotel gave us a fan but it was not powerful enough for the room and it squeaked so you couldn’t sleep with it on either. Really disappointed. Our stay here ruined our trip as we were just so tired.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in. Got the quiet room I asked for with a breathtaking view on the sunrise and above the rooftops. Room was very clean. Bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding and the personnel very caring and friendly. You can even see the dome from a balcony! I'm looking forward to my next stay.

The City of Cologne is best known for its events and trade fairs that regularly take place. The privately run Hotel "Flandrischer Hof" is located in the Center of Cologne directly at the "Rudolfplatz" You can easily reach the shopping miles of Colgone, as well as lots of restaurants, bars and other localities. The Cologne Cathedrale is with about 2,3 km in a ten minutes walking distance. Besides the categories which fulfil a casual to enhanced requirement the lots in our parking garage build the comfort of placing the vehicle in striking distance and so you can spare the search for a parking lot in the City Centre of Cologne. Enjoy a substantial breakfast to start your day right. Bread rolls, fruits, cereal, cold meat or hot food - our buffet contains lots of tasty treats. Even if you suffer from a gluten intolerance an alternative can be offered. Please let the hotel know in advance if you would like to have your breakfast gluten free, so it can be arranged.
Stayed here for a long weekend in Cologne during a european heatwave. The hotel is located right in the city centre with easy access to public transport, including the main train station and the tram. It is also only 10 minutes walk away from the famous Kolner Dom. Just outside the hotel, there are many restaurants, bars and fast food outlets to suit everyone. It is in the perfect location for everything. The hotel itself has a welcoming and clean lobby area, with pleasant staff upon arrival. The rooms are fairly basic, but also quite spacious. There was a lack of air conditioning throughout the summer which was difficult to deal with, however it was perhaps the hottest weekend of the summer in Germany. For the price we paid, it was a great deal and in a great location for us.

The pictures on here look fresh and modern, the room we were given was tired, the Toilet smelled like a Public male toilet and didn’t feel clean, we had a radiator in the room that made waterfall noises all night - it was OK but we paid over £200 for 1 night expecting something luxurious but it was not. They charge for the location but there is much better in cologne that I’ve stayed in.

The epithet "Mill" is reminiscent of the origins of Cologne and the mills that once existed on the Stunderbach, to which the district of Mühlheim also owes its name. In terms of design, the niu Mill is all about milling and the relationship to the processing of natural raw materials. Lush green tones and wooden accents await you and create the perfect oasis of relaxation. However, the equipment of the niu Mill is more reminiscent of the future than the past: whether high-speed WiFi, flat-screen TV with media library or your own Bluetooth music box - no wishes remain unfulfilled here. The niu Mill is also the perfect starting point for your city trip through Cologne: thanks to good connections, you can reach Cologne city centre and its must-sees in less than 30 minutes.
