In the heart of the real, authentic Tuscany, the rooms of Palazzo Pacini, an historic Residence, are now available for bookings, assuring you of an unforgettable stay. Enjoy the beauty, peace and warmth of hospitality in a period Residence, in one of central Tuscany's historic town centres. Situated in the old part of Colle Val d'Elsa, the Palazzo Pacini Residence offers a welcoming atmosphere of elegant grace and charm, in the peace and quiet of Colle's “Borgo” neighbourhood. Ideal for a completely relaxing stay, with excursions in the beautiful old town centre of Colle, as well as to the nearby towns and cities of Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and Volterra.
It took me a bit time to start write this because this house / hotel is very personal and very special. The location is perfect. Colle val'de Elsa is between Florence and Siena. San Gingiamo is very close. Pallazo Pacini is located in the medievial part of this little town, which is good to bear in mind, if one is arriving by car. There is no parking places in the front of the hotel. There is however an publick (free) parking area nearby, which came across to us to be rather safe. There are bars and restaurants nearby, which are easy to reach by walking. The hotel itself is described by the others already very well. I don't have very much to add to that. But one thing I can say: Pallazo Pacini seems to have very special rooms and each one is different in terms of size and decoration and I suppose also in the price. We had the room "Lordship" in the 1st. floor wiht the view to the garden. It was very spectacular room. It had an huge and extremly beatyfull wooden antique closet. Generally spoken they have got lots of (real) antique furniture, which I liked. We thought the Pallazo Pacini is decoraed with good taste. Breakfast was excellent. Fresh fruits and a selection of very good cheeses. The breakfast terrace was very beatyfull with excellent view. Margarithe and Pietro were very helpfull and polite with any questions or requests we had. They helped us to print our tickets for Siena Cathedral and also gave us some very good hints, where we should go and what we could do. When we retrun to Toscany we will book a room in Palazzo Pacini. I am happy to recomend Palazzo Pacini to everyone.

Palazzo San Lorenzo is located in Colle Val D'Elsa between Siena & Florence - San Gimignano & Chianti. Is a perfect mix between ancient charme and modern comfort. 48 Rooms furnished in a warm contemporary style with wood floors, comfortable beds and marble bathrooms. Palazzo San Lorenzo offers a restaurant in the ancient chapel of the building, a wellness centre with heated jacuzzi pool. For business offers also 2 meeting rooms.
For our first nights in a different country after the pandemic, we went back to somewhere we knew well. We'd been several times before to Palazzo San Lorenzo and every time we'd had a faultless stay. This time it was no different. A lovely clean room, very quiet and cool (10 out of 10 for the air conditioning as the end of May was proving to be unseasonably hot!) and friendly staff. They had contacted us in advance to let us know their restaurant was not yet open, and offered to book a table a local establishment (see separate review for Portanova). Breakfast was an extensive buffet in the restaurant, with probably everything you could possibly imagine wanting for breakfast. A very nice stay, very much as previously, the only noticeable difference lots of hand sanitiser in public spaces and facemasks.

The magic of the Chianti has always been an irresistible lure for many Italian and foreign tourists and in the middle of this magic area you will find the Villa Sabolini. Staying at the Hotel Villa Sabolini, you will reside in a historic home of great value, not far from the center of Monteriggioni, where you can take many paths, food and wine, touching Siena and its Piazza del Campo, but also San Gimignano, Volterra, discovering a small but significant Tuscany. Villa Sabolini is made up of different buildings, all recovered from the ancient structure of the villa: Farm, Villa and Seminary. Three separate buildings all of which have been derived and adapted different types of rooms.
Located 30 min drive from Siena. This villa is not part of the village, is bit away on top of the small hill. Offering nice view to neighbouring valley. Next to villa is one small old chappel, a couple of houses. Roots of villa are very old. There are two new wings old 100 years or etc and central building much more older. We were in one wing and got room with balcony, which is actually terrace. Rooms are clean, big and spacious. Service was helpfull and smilling. We got each day breakfast, were was offering bufet. Food was tasty, what i disliked were flies, flying around and sitting on food. Apart of this i liked this place. Around the villa was beautiful park and outside pool. Next to the park was a private parking for guests. We felt safely here and comfortable. I definitely recommend to stay here.

Let me start by stating that I do not write negative reviews because I believe there is positive to be found in most things. Here, unfortunately, we checked in and out in within 20 min. with no place to go! 6:05pm We arrived excited and with expectations to lounge near the pool in our junior suites taking in some well needed rest and relaxation. This idea was quickly eviscerated from our minds. We showed up with a big car and many bags. There was only one employee who did everything. She as kind and attentive. She stated no one besides her was able to help with our bags, so we were responsible for bringing them to the room. We thought...oh man, I hope this get's better. Did I mention Chemicals? More on that below. The grounds weren't what we thought based on the perfectly lit and framed pics online. Deception comes to mind. We thought it would be in the rolling hills of Tuscany taking in the beauty, however it was just next to a business complex. The hotel was an old Monastery, which sounds romantic and intriguing if you can see through the old peeling paint and dusty quarters. Let's face it, this wasn't the patina of an old Italy, it was the patina of neglect. The room was eerie and depressing, but maybe this is simply subjective - obviously others found it charming. What wasn't charming was the SEVERE and NOXIOUS chemical smell coming from both of our rooms. We had 5 people with us and 20% of our group had the beginnings of an asthma attack secondary to the smell. I am also a medical doctor and knew we couldn't stay. It was at this point that my eyes began watering, but not from sadness (though that would be reasonable with nowhere else to go), the tears came from the chemicals that I presume were used to clean or disinfect the room. The 4 other members of our group were quite appalled, including my 9 year old daughter who was wincing as she breathed. It was 615pm!. When we went to discuss this with the nice woman in the front desk she was empathetic and called the manager who WOULD NOT REFUND OUR MONEY. It was 620pm and we still had no place to go. We must've had a premonition that this place would be just a pass-through because instinctively we never unpacked our bags. My daughter thought we may have to sleep in the car in Italy because we would be homeless for the night. We got into our car and drove away knowing they weren't refunding our money. I wouldn't recommend this place for the following reasons (in case it wasn't clear from above): 1) Location was deceiving based on photos 2) Rooms were highly exaggerated in pics and didn't represent what we saw in the pics. 3) Rooms had a Noxious Chemical smell 4) No downstairs bathroom in our "suite." 5) Manager lacked fair customer service (he was only available by phone). In short, a gas mask may have been a nice addition to the rooms, though I wonder if that would've scared us off sooner? Signed, Ripped off, yet still breathing.

Stayed for one night whilst walking the via Francigena. It’s in a lovely location but as other reviews have noted, the rooms are very outdated. My gran would have loved the floral decor and soft furnishings but not to our taste. WiFi was weak in the room. All staff were very welcoming and helpful. A good breakfast choice and good COVID measures in place. The pool was very welcome after a long hot days walking. There is no aircon but a fan was provided, and definitely needed. Overall, whilst I enjoyed my time here it is overpriced for what you get.

Nice comfortable and clean hotel in the old town. Rooms were very nice and price was well worth it. Breakfast was adequate. Nice little square next to the hotel where you can sit and sip a beer beside the old walls and view across the ravine is great, especially at sunset. Good choice.

We found this gem of a place just by chance when we were driving by in Sept 2018. Simply amazing place. We stopped in for a meal and the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, so just sit back and enjoy the relaxed laid back pace. The food was exceptional and the wine was delicious. We did a wine tasting here as well and ended up buying some wine. We are planning another trip to Italy from Canada in Sept 2020 and are really looking forward to going back here for a nice dinner and wine tasting. See you between Sept 15-20.

The Cristall Hotel advertises itself as being in the green heart of Tuscany and shows lovely pictures on its website of the "surroundings" of the hotel. Well, the hotel is actually in what can only be described as an industrial area and the beautiful Tuscan vistas are not within proximity of the hotel. The "view" out of the window of our room was an overgrown lot. Additionally, the hotel is advertised as a B&B on a few web sites. It is not a B&B it is what I would consider to be a motel. When my wife and I complained at the front desk that the pictures did not represent the hotel we were told that those were in the vicinity and the description is accurate. If you are looking for the quintessential Tuscan country side experience this is not it. The hotel is moderately priced ($105 US) and relatively clean (the bathroom could have been cleaner)but it is certainly not in the most picturesque area. Also, the walls were a bit thin and you could could hear the neighboring rooms.
