First, the good news. The food was good and I come from Dallas, the TexMex capitol of the world. Now the bad news, The bar leaves a lot to be desired. My husband ordered a bourbon and Coke. Waitress asked if Pepsi was okay. He said fine. She brought him a Pepsi--no booze. Another guy at the table ordered a martini with an olive. Totally confused them. He finally settled for vodka on the rocks. My margarita was excellent, however. Don't confuse them--just get the margarita.

I've been here twice for lunch. The atmosphere is delightful(it's in an old house), service is good and the food is delicious. I NEVER order chicken or egg salad in a restaurant but have had both here (as part of their gluten free options) and they were wonderful!
They have an extensive selection of teas, hot and iced. I'm not necessarily a tea drinker but it's always fun to try something new here. I highly recommend this lovely place for lunch with friends or family. I will definitely return for more delicious goodness and the nice atmosphere.

5 o'clock in the morning the doughnuts are ready. They taste better than all the rest in town and better than Krispy Kreme's brought up from too far away.
AND . . . there is no smell of gasoline, because there are no gas pumps outside.

Found this little joint two blocks off the main drag thanks to TripAdvisor reviewers. Fantastic pulled pork, even the baked beans were awesome, and the strange mac'n cheese was excellent! Baby back ribs were phenomenal too. Fast, friendly service. One thing--I did not like the smell of the restaurant and almost left because of it. The takeout boxes had the same smell so I was a little worried. But it was not important. Maybe it was just some unusual spice or something they use in the smoker, because the food was really, really great.

I was driving the backroads in Southern Kansas and Northern Oklahoma today for no reason other than it was a beautiful day, I didn't have a deadline to meet, and just wanted to see the "road less taken." About Noon, I found myself in Coffeyville, Kansas and decided to try and find a "local place." As I drove along a street that had a large number of local and chain restaurants, I noticed that one place had at least double the amount of cars and pick ups of any of the other places. It also met my criteria of being "local," plus it won the visually appealing criteria. So, local and visually appealing made me give it a try. I am so glad I did! Once inside, there was a large cadre of very nice and friendly young servers...all of whom made a point of saying "Hi!"...nice touch. I decided on the "Daily Special," pulled pork sandwich, one side, and beverage. As a side, I picked the homemade potato salad. My mom's potato salad has always been my favorite...but Hog Heaven's potato salad didn't beat Mom's...but it is now my "second favorite." It truly was great. The pulled pork sandwich was served in a very unique way...a toasted bun, with a large portion of pulled pork in a container...plus dill pickles on the side. The pork was perfect...I was both pleased and amazed at the flavor. It had been perfectly smoked. As for sauces, they make their own. They provide: sweet, hot, original, and mustard based Carolina. I decided to split my sandwich and try the original and the Carolina. Both were very good. Today was one of those pleasurable finds that makes travelling the backroads a great way to go. Whenever I find my way back to Coffeyville, I will definitely try Phelp's Hog Heaven again...what a pleasant surprise!

Lanning's was okay. I suspect I made a mistake by ordering the steak, and should have chosen one of their specialties. The steak was under seasoned and over cooked, but there seemed to be other favorites that were probably better.

Utopia...The Perfect Place To Be! We are a coffee/dessert shop in Coffeyville, KS. We offer specialty coffee drinks (hot, iced, or frozen/blended), chai, hot chocolate, teas, Italian sodas (iced or frozen), lemonade, milk, etc. We bake from scratch SMALL batches of various items daily including: scones, muffin tops, cookies, brownies/bars, mini coffee cakes, biscotti, etc. We gladly accept orders of any of our baked goods and request a minimum of 24 hours notice. Cinnamon rolls are available the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month. We would love the opportunity to serve you! We are now serving daily lunch specials as well!

We visited this morning; Utopia was recommended by our daughter has having the best coffee in Coffeyville - she is absolutely correct, our coffees were excellent! However, my daughter didn't tell us the full story, Utopia also have wonderful pastries, there's so much choice, and...MoreDon is a wonderful barista and a very kind person! We are so happy that you enjoyed your visit to Utopia. We hope you stop in again soon!

We were traveling thru Coffeyville this last Monday (in December 2015) The place was clean, the service was good, prices very reasonable and the food OUTSTANDING. We will definitely go there again.
