It's a beautiful place, 10 minutes walk outside the strip /waterfront :) - a very nice restaurant with terrace and a mouthwatering menu was waiting. Friendly and professional waiters, too! Next time in Cochem, we know where to go, it's a Hotel - Restaurant:)

Located just off the water and in the center of town, Hotel Haus Lipmann has a beautiful terrace. We stopped here mid-afternoon for some cake & coffee. We ordered the Kirschstreusel (cherry) and Rieslingtorte accompanied milchkaffee and espresso macchiato. Service was prompt. We enjoy a relaxing time. The ku chen was very tasty.

We ate dinner on the grape-vine-covered balcony overlooking the river. The view is spectacular. Service was impeccable and cheerful. The house wine was delicious. We ordered two of the specials featuring fresh mushrooms, and both were wonderful; my wife had spaghetti with mushroom sauce, and I had schnitzel with a similar though thicker mushroom sauce. She had apple strudel with ice-cream; I had a chocolate cake smothered in cherry sauce set next to a dip of vanilla ice-cream and a dollop of whipped cream. Decadent, yes. We've not had a better meal in our three weeks in Germany.

I ate here this week when other restaurants in town were closed. The fish cooked five ways with au gratin potatoes was very good. There was seating inside and outside. The staff spoke good English and service was good. Overall very satisfied.

Just the perfect place to eat when on holiday. Good food, interesting traditional German Menu selection, wonderful wine! The service personal and friendly. The atmosphere just right! The place was full when we arrived, so two gentlemen offered to share their table. Had a great conversation and learned a lot about the area. The perfect place to "hang out" when on a long vacation in the area. Or even for a nice short visit!!

We decided we wanted to stay in the Mosel and ended up booking to stay in Landgasthof Winzerscheune. It proved to be an excellent choice. We booked a comfort room and and it was. Good sized room with small sitting area and balcony with table and chairs (but not the weather needed to make use of them). Bathroom shower on the small side but ok. Breakfast was good.Restaurant gets busy so probably best to book as people who are not guests come there to eat. They serve food in two areas ... a smallish restaurant just behind reception or a great big expanse covering the rest of the ground floor. There is no atmosphere in the larger area and serving staff seemed to concentrate on the other part of the restaurant ... so I'd avoid sitting in this part of the restaurant as they are not staffed to service it. Food good and prices ok.We intended to eat out some nights, but the weather and lack of appearance of being open of other restaurants in Valwig meant we ate here each night, There was enough choice and quality for this not to not to be a problem.

I came here with my companion for my birthday based on reviews from people on Trip Advisor and I was NOT disappointed! Be sure to arrive by at least 18.30 if you want a table on the outside terrace as tables are limited. My companion ordered a ragout of venison and I had the trout. Both plates were plentiful and delicious. Great wine as well (we recommend asking for the red wine DORNFELDER (Dry).

Dining options were fairly limited in Ernst but we didn't feel like driving to Cochem. We tried Mosella based upon reviews in TA. The night we went the place was full of locals, which says something. Our waiter spoke very good English and graciously explained the menu. I wish we had gotten the evening special, as most had done, but my husband and I felt this was a truly authentic German restaurant and were very pleased.

We decided not to eat on our ship and walk into town to find some authentic German food. We were seated promptly by a window overlooking the river. Service was friendly but spotty likely due to our lack of German . Food was good. I was surprised by the potato dumplings. Tasty but unusual consistency.

It's a lovely place with a great view. However I found it over priced. We ordered a cheese plate and while the presentation was very pretty it was short on substance. We had three pieces of store bought brown sandwich bread with four slices of packaged cheese and a little flavored cream cheese. Visually pleasing bit disappointing overall. The wine was good but it's hard to have bad wine in the Mosel Valley!
