Reviews on South American food in Cochabamba, Cochabamba Department, Bolivia. Cochabamba (Aymara: Quchapampa, Quechua: Quchapanpa) is a city & municipality in central Bolivia, in a valley in the Andes mountain range. It is the capital of the Cochabamba Department and is the fourth largest city in Bolivia, with a population of 630,587 according to the 2012 Bolivian census. Its name is from a compound of the Quechua words qucha, meaning "lake", and pampa, "open plain". Residents of the city and surrounding areas are commonly referred to as cochalas, or, more formally, cochabambinos.

Vegan restaurant open on Sundays in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Clean restaurant. Great options of typical Bolivian food veganized. I had the Sunday lunch. Lunch is soup, entree, dessert, salad and a juice drink. All for less than $5. The taste of the food was very good. They serve traditional dishes like: silpancho, pique macho, peanut soup. All vegan and tasty.
I havenât seen many vegetarian restaurants in Cochabamba, so when I heard about Nina, I wanted to go there. It is a small place, more like a café. One can choose to sit inside or outside. The food is good, but the menu is simple. At daytime they offer a complete lunch, but at nighttime they only serve panini and pasta. I was hoping for a soup, but i chose a panini, which was very good. We also drank chai and limonade, which was delicious. Great portions of food and drink and friendly prices.

I have tried ceviche in many places in Cochabamba with mixed results but La Playa exceeded by far our expectations. Real Peruvian ceviche : fish, seafood or shrimp. 2 different sizes and very affordable. Always ask to go to the Patio inside it offers a very nice atmosphere away from the street. Very tasty and you can also have real chicha morada.

The title of my review says it all. Bagu serves up some delicious steak! Our waiter was friendly and helpful. He helped us navigate the menu so we knew what cuts of meat we were ordering. The prices were incredible compared to what I would have spent in the US for a steak that large.

We arrived on Sunday with 18 in our party and we're delighted from start to finish. The show included dancers and musicians. Arriving early and getting your food order in is the way to go. Food and service were excellent.

It specializes in serving grilled meats, where we accompany these with a variety of vegetables in buffet plus a variety of side dishes, you will find beef, fish, chicken and pork. We also have a nice space to share a group of friends with the family.
We had heard good things about Las Moras and were looking forward to trying the food, especially the salad bar. Things were off to good start, with relatively quick seating - the restaurant was crowded on a Sunday - and drink service. We ordered several fish and meat dishes and were instructed to visit the salad bar - which by Cochabamba standards is quite good and comprehensive, though sorely lacking a sneeze guard or some sort of protection. It was just wide open and it being flu season etc⦠Overall the food was fine but took 1 hour to arrive. (1 hour to bring a chorizo to my hungry boys?!!) And when it came, it was spicy, which they had neglected to tell us so men son wouldn't eat it anyway. I think we had a bit of bad luck that day, so we'll definitely be trying it again - however not when it's full on Sunday at lunchtime.

We had a delicious lunch today at La Estancia. It came highly recommended and did not disappoint. The restaurant has a pleasant ambiance and nicely decorated tables and stitched napkins with the restaurantâs name. We started out with the salad bar option, drinks, bread, and awaited the steaks! Deliciously prepared, good-sized portions (I took part of mine home) along with terrific service. Recommended!
