The best Restaurant in Cobán. Guatemalan-International meals. Argentine Steak house. Unique enviroment with live music. Visit our Orchids tour. Great variety of wines.
Lots of flowers, nice ambient. The food is pretty good. there are lots is kinds of cake and pies. There is even a small book shelf where you can find books in lots of different languages.

I went here specifically to try the Kaq'ik wishing it wasn't too hot. It actually didn't have any Chile cobanero which originally was supposed to give the red color. Instead they do it with Achiote for the color red and you can add Chile cobanero. They gave me the blood of the 'chunto' (a kind of turkey), some chocolate and a rice made sauce as a ritual to receive the Kaq'ik. Then they brought the Kaq'ik which had very delicious flavor. I totally recommend it for people who want to taste it without Chile cobanero.

This was one of my favour restaurants in Central America. Great food, bursting with flavour, and great ambience. The owners are really helpful and friendly. Highly recommended if you are anywhere near Coban.

Cafe La Granja, located in Tactic, comes as rather a culture shock/surprise with its outdoor play areas, chequered table clothes and unashamedly kitsch farm theme. It does, however, have a lovely deck area from which you can enjoy the view of the frisky ponies. Be warned: the pizza is huge and could easily serve four....rather than one! The desserts are a stupefying selection of cakes and meringues.... The entire experience is rather bizarre after the austerity of Ram Tzul but Cafe La Granja is obviously very popular with tourists and locals alike. Just make sure that you don't dawdle too much here even though it is very pleasant sitting under the market umbrellas - you don't want to restrict your time at Orquigonia in Coban......

If you want to try fusion cuisine, Coban has a surprise for you. Kardamomuss restaurant is a very nice place with several meals, with or without cardamom. Even when cardamom is the famous ingredient, some meals include exotic and local herbs, a very tasteful idea. Food is delicious, just like that, no matter what you order.

The place is clean, but without any special atmosphere. True is that there aren't much better coffee places in Coban, but I would not come back and rather go to nearby pizza Casa Chevez, where is much better ambience, food and coffee. I had an chicken Sandwich which was full of mayonnaise. Coffee is good and cakes as well. All in all it's a good place, from local view above average.

The best Bistro and Coffee Boutique in Coban with a great menu of select dishes and coffee drinks. Join us and live the Dieseldorff experience.
I normally would not give anyone four stars but compared to most places in town except for the great steak place on Main Street, this place rules! The best cup of coffee that you can find and a good mix of New Age and old typical flavors of the region.
Great location and good value!

Just eaten a lovely meal in this great find / LP recommendation. We had filling soups (the chicken and vegetable that was lovely and bean with a kind of soft cheese balls in it), a couple of pupusa type filled doughs (with a nice salsa...MoreThanks a lot for your comment! The restaurant is located behind an old, restored home on a busy street. There is a sign, but it is a little hard to find. However, the food was VERY GOOD!
I had a steak dinner, so tender and flavorable. It was accompanied by a baked potato and veggies, all prepared very well. I also had garlic bread. I had all this food for around $10-12.
My buddy had a delicious veggie pizza.
We stumbled upon this place and glad that we did.

"El Monje" means the Monk, and the restaurant used to be a monastery - feels steeped in history! It has a beautiful patio and big old rooms which must also be good for private parties. I confess that I have only eaten the Monje's thick black bean soup, delicious - but the hefty, solid fare beloved by Coban folk. Their cold beer, fizzy lemonade and coffee are also good. It has good wifi, and I have lurked and written from there.
I really like the sweet, friendly, unobtrusive staff, the amiable atmosphere and the kindly owner who,, incidentally gives free office space to a charity from the top of what used to be the monastery's belfry.
