Ciudad Victoria (Spanish pronunciation: [sjuˈðað βikˈtoɾja] ( listen)) is the capital of the homonymous municipality and the capital of the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. It is located in the northeast of Mexico at the foot of the Sierra Madre Oriental. It borders the municipality of Güémez to the north, Llera to the south, Casas Municipality to the east, and the municipality of Jaumave to the west. The city is located 246 km (153 mi) from Monterrey and 319 km (198 mi) from the border with the United States. Ciudad Victoria is named after the first president of Mexico, Guadalupe Victoria.

Ciudad Victoria is a northern city in Mexico that you would only visit for working or family purposes. This is the most fancy place in Ciudad Victoria. The menu is a mix of appetizers (probably the best part and good for sharing), pasta, fish food and meat. I went with two office mates: we shared the gaoneras (the best), the jaiba balls (type of crab balls), the champiñones al ajillo and an order of tacos de camarones. The environment is good for business or for having a quite and nice conversation with your significant other. It is not a place for kids.
I will visit other options in my next trip to Ciudad Victoria, probably something more local or authentic.

This place used to have great salads and great sandwiches. However the the quality has decreased with time. Smaller portions, not as fresh ingredients, etc. I used to eat there a lot. I have not returned since.

This is one of my favourite place to eat in Cd. Victoria. This restaurant has the best grill in town. Beef is cooked to perfection every time. Try the Chuletón or the Alambres de Filete and you won't be disappointed.
This restaurant also offers many other dinning options, from international cuisine to local specialties.
Service is very good, with many waiters catering to whatever need you have. It can be relatively inexpensive if you choose your dinning options wisely, or it can be expensive.
If you're ever in Victoria and need a place to eat, THIS IS THE PLACE!

Been there once. The place was packed full the day I ate there. I was not impressed by the food, nor the service (slow).

We had a group of 18 people this night. We started with drinks and appetizers. Bar had a great wine and beer selection with plenty of mixed drinks. All of our meals were cooked perfectly on time and delicious. I shared a mixed plate of aracharra, filet, and chorizo. Again. Can't say enough good about this place. And what an atmosphere. Impressive palm ceiling and wood decor.

The best coffee in Victoria Ciudad. The place is a little hidden but well worth the cappuccino or latte taste of the best in town. The atmosphere is pleasant to work, read or talk quietly. Highly recommended!

Good light fare, appetizers - The guacamole on purple lettuce very tasty, mushrooms in light garlic, queso fundido, excellent taste, even tacos... top quality butter soft steak meat. Roving violinist providing ambiance, only suggestion perhaps a little more color on the plates making it more pleasant to the eye. Recommend wholeheartedly.

Una muy pero muy buena opción para comer pescados/mariscos. Una atención personalizada, desde la llegada por el Sr Rogelio hasta los meseros! Me encanta el arroz con leche, una maravilla!!
