Our second visit to the Ristorante Zafferano Pievese at Hotel Vanucci coincided with Città delle Pieve's, 'Festa del Zafferano', 21-23 ottobre. The town had several stalls selling products using locally grown saffron.
Excellent fresh bread, baked on the premises. We enjoyed the saffron risotto, grilled chicken breast, a bottle of sparkling water and a half litre of the house red. The very reasonable cost came to roughly €20pp.
Pleasant surroundings, attentive service and other local dinners enjoying a family celebration. The menu also carters for various alternative dietary requirements. I can highly recommend this venue if you are visiting or staying in the area.

The waiters/chefs were so helpful and knowledgeable. The food was simple and freshly sourced. It is a great place to escape the generic pizza and pasta dishes found locally. It's a lovely setting to watch the sunset with unrivalled view of the Tuscany landscape.

Nothing particularly special about this place but nothing wrong either. We had some lovely bruschetta's with our aperitivo. We only took a primo with a salad which was OK, but again not remarkable. My son had a pizza which can be described with the same words. Prices are very acceptable, so good value for money.

Weve been in citta before, and more restauants that are obvious because of the wandering small passages. Silvana was good, service was good, but surprisingly expensive for a small town with local customers. we had better food in Florence for less.

Excellent, Very very busy on a Saturday lunch. Great atmosphere. Best meat menu ever and reasonable prices per Etto. Steak, fillet, Vitello, wine at a reasonable price for such a popular restaurant. The best restaraunt in Citta Della Pieve according to the locals. If you have a prima and a secondi you won't need a pudding. ......
Always book ahead. Family run restaraunt and Nonna and Nonno are still involved. Very good staff , helpful and friendly. Family friendly , clean toilets, disabled accessible.
Open kitchens so you can see your food being cooked as long as you get a table at entrance level.

No tourists at this cosy eatery just down to earth home cooked local Italian dishes.it was excellent,very low key ,no tourists or English ,I had the best lentil /veg soup ever as well as veal in porcini sauce ,tomato/fennel side dish and the house wine ,sensational,home made to die for tiramisu ,and I have had a few on this trip !
Great atmosphere and value.dont tell to many people or it will be spoiled for the locals .

Perfect bar to drop in to for an aperitif, it is buzzing from 6pm onwards and offers great local wines and good snacks. People flock here after work to sit outside on the Terrace and watch the world go by. Very well priced and just a great little rest bite. They also offer food although I didn't sample any it did look good. All in all would definitely recommend to anyone dropping by Citte Della Pieve

Looking for a hideaway for a couple of days, we found the lovely situated Agriturismo Il Felcino. Very warm welcome, nice apartment with all commodities (bit of an unreliable shower, but... that's wasn't really an issue) and a wonderful restaurant on the site. Great service, family atmosphere, smiling faces... what more could one ask for. We'll definitely return!
