The restaurant, Over Aaen "Above the River" is perched on the top floor in the heart of Kolding. With views of the creek and a lovely relaxed atmosphere, personal service and an ambitious gastronome level. We challenge you with exciting food that stirs the senses and give you a good experience. Basically we work with Spanish ingredients as we have great experience in this field, but also uses many other international commodities postseason. The preparation of handle raw materials made entirely of home cooking and the kitchen's temper. This means that we prepare and create new dishes and tapas after season, our passionate, skilled chefs.
We had a Go Dream gift card for three courses. Good food, good service, no complaints. Other reviews mention the temperature in the restaurant. We arrived at 6pm and it was toasty warm. The radiator next to us was on 5. By about 7.30pm it was colder in the restaurant but still okay, and our radiator was working hard. It may have something to do with the front door. So with later Reservations, wear warmer clothes! Other reviews mention a waiter who is hard to understand. Yes, he's Spanish, but if you concentrate you can learn something - he's attentive and he knows his stuff. Their red wine is really good :-)

Hyggelig lille cafe med rar betjening. Maden var ok til prisen. Ligger i udkanten af dejlige Christiansfeld. Er du sulten for sjov så var det til husbehov.

They pulled out two gas warmers and blankets for us, because we insisted on sitting outside despite the weather. The served us extra meringues because we loved them. The waiter laughed at our jokes, even the subtle ones and we had a very nice meal.

Went here for a Sunday lunch based on the reviews and was not disappointed! Was warmly welcomed by the staff and the restaurant was not busy despite the car park being nearly full. It turned out that the place also accommodate private parties for dining however in rooms separate to the restaurant. The menu had a small selection of traditional Danish lunch dishes, both cold and hot. The dining room was cosy decorated albeit a bit dark.
The service was good and efficient. The food was nice and the portions were huge even for a person like me having a big appetite! I ordered a wiener schnitzel and when served the waiter humorously claimed that if I was able to eat another one, I should just let him know and he would be happy to serve me one more for free! I think he was serious about this but I never found out as full enough after just one.

Came here recently whilst staying nearby, the restaurant is fabulous, such an amazing selection of meats and salads. The Chef was very good at explaining all the different cuts of meats and the choices of how they had been cooked.
Wish we had this restaurant in England!
Will be returning to Denmark as soon as possible and definitely will be going back here.
The choice of meats were excellent, i enjoyed trying cuts that i wouldn't have normally had the option to try.
There was then a large selection of fries/potatoes/vegetables etc and a full salad bar for you to choose from and the prices are really good as well.
If you're visiting Kolding then this is a must!

We went in the afternoon and got the "shooting star" and afterwards cake and coffee, and it was amazingly good.
We got a table with view over the fjord, and combined with good ambient music, nice atmosphere and good service we have absolutely nothing to complain about.
The "shooting star" in itself was amazing, served with 3 differently prepared kinds of fish, and really hit the spot.
The cake and coffee afterwards was really nice, and the southern Jutland style apple cake was genuine and delicious.
Overall it was definitely worth the trip and the money.

This is a lovely hidden gem in Haderslev serving some excellent wines and food. I contacted Tappo a couple of months in advance since I was looking for a place to celebrate my birthday with 17 friends. Verner at Tappo immediately responded and came up...MoreThank you very much for the nice words. The team behind Tappo is looking forward to the fact that you and your guests had a lovely evening.
