Went to this restaurant twice during our stay. We didnât stay at the hotel above it, we stayed at a hotel 2 doors down call the Rostrevor. The food here was excellent both times. We had the breakfast special and then lunch. Both times our taste buds was quiet happy. The staff is very curt and atmosphere very Barbadian. The restaurant and bar is right next to the pool, that overlooks the sea. The birds and so friendly too. They just walk around without fear. In the pictures we had the bar b que and fries special, the cu-cu and fish special, and the breakfast special which includes plantains, bakes, eggs (your choice of cook style) and the flying fish. Both times and all foods, tasted fresh and delicious.

On our first evening in Barbados we went there for dinner, on the next day we went there for breakfast. Two different experiences. The place is now called 'Amigos' and is part of the Time Out Hotel on the main street of St.Lawrence Gap.It is a very casual place, more of a sports bar and pub. We sat outside on high stools and were served by a very friendly East Indian looking lady, who said - after I asked - that she came from Guyana. We told her that this were our next destination and got some advice from her. Coincidentally the following evening we went to 'Uncle George' at 'Oistins Friday Fish Fry' and there we were attended by an excellent waiter, also from Guyana and of East Indian origin. Our choice was something typical from the island, usually not available in more fancy restaurants: Flying Fish Cutter. This is per definition a Bajan Salt Bread, a not salty roll with a crusty exterior and a soft interior, which gets halved for all kind of fillings. A popular version is with the island's national fish, but when not available, it gets supplanted by Mahi Mahi or Tilapia (as we were told). This was also the case here. Definitely no Flying Fish. The fish comes fried and here it was added by cheese, lettuce and tomato, also there were sesame seeds on the bun. With it we drank the local Banks beer. For breakfast next day there was a buffet for 30 BBD, but it didn't look tempting to us with the over fried fish balls, the potato pieces, the Heinz beans, the mushrooms, the fried eggs, so we just asked for an 'Egg Panini', for which one could chose bacon or sausage as an accompaniment. When it arrived after 25 minutes there was only bacon inside, no egg. This was brought separately after our complaint. Toilets? - there were three in all: two 'out of service' and the one at the hotel closed for cleaning. What we liked the best at breakfast were the chicken wandering freely through the restaurant.

Uniquely themed pop-culture bar and eatery, catering to fans of affordable dining, great nightlife and exceptional entertainment.
I went to Aeon Bar with a friend to celebrate a birthday. The music was good. That is where good things ended. The waitress took a while to even notice us even though we were seated at the bar and then after taking our drink order, she took close to 20 minutes to bring our drinks. Remember we were at the bar so they had to see us. She would start to make them then leave to take beers for a table, come back and add another ingredient then make drinks for other customers. We sat there dumbfounded. The manager came out of the back and when we told him, he just shrugged his shoulders and said 'It's Friday' and did nothing. When the fishcakes came they were hot and crispy but devoid of fish or taste. The entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth, pun intended. I will not be back.

Local food, freshly cooked, consistently good! Join Donovan at Bar 557, a hidden gem on the south coast. Our Bajan cuisine includes fresh grilled fish, chicken, burgers and ribs as a special order.
Had a great time and good food. Out in the boonies, but well worth the trip .Fun talking with Donovan. Bajan cooking at a reasonable price.Highly recommended.

A relaxed warm, friendly location for dining or just socialising. Janice the owner and chef will accommodate the most fussy diner, while Esther the barmaid will offer you some of the best and fastest service on the island. All at a reasonable price. Can't wait to go back.

Stopped in for a drink. Food looked good, nice big plates. The rum was free flowing, with lots of rum...good hostess. Also known as Breezers Bar and Grill. Local gentleman gave us a good rundown of area. Some Canadian artifacts on wall:oils snow shows and Lacrosse stick...as surprised to see that in Barbados!

First night in the Gap, so a bit confused by everything, and initially wondering whether anywhere sold food I could afford. Got as far as the Jamm, and was coaxed inside by a very friendly young "whipper in". She's doing a great job. From that point on the service was just abysmal. The waitress was less interested in looking after us than anyone that has ever served me. Anywhere. Ever.I could rant on forever about her failings..... didn't explain anything on the menu, didn't explain what drinks were in the Happy Hour deal, forgot one drink, didn't listen, kept disappearing, couldn't or wouldn't explain what "festivals" are (I think she mumbled the word "dough" but it might have been d'oh!) Never brought the water for the table, had to be hunted down to order another drink as she was chatting to someone more interesting than the job or us. Anyway enough of that, THE SERVICE WAS OFF THE SCALE AWFUL. And so on to the food. Jerk chicken was just jerk chicken bones- rubbish. And now the positive . I had the jerk fish and it was delicious. It's cheaper than most places, but I'd rather pay twice as much and enjoy myself. And if you want jazz, go to Scoopies ( review to follow.)Pip Pip!
