Local food, great prices, relaxing environment, best roti in Barbados, great beer and rum punch.
This is the place near Craneâs beach where the locals and staff from Craneâs Resort go to eat! Much more authentic and fun and way cheaper than eating in the overpriced restaurants in Crane Resort. The food is freshly cooked to order and reliable and tasty, there are also daily specials that were not listed on the menu but the local guys at the next table were eating. We ate here almost daily once we discovered it, as itâs easily accessible out the side gate through the Craneâs Resort Car Park.Locals sit around for hours drinking and watching the cricket or movies if there are no cricket re-runs! The menu includes roti wraps with meat or vegetable curries which were my favourite and my husband usually had fresh fish and salad.Friendly and fun!

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening dinner at the Masala Grill, the seating is in a front garden of a house, all the food is cooked freshly with beautiful juices prepared by the owners to enjoy with your dinner. We selected the Steak and Lamb Mains which were cooked to perfection and so tender and tasty.Nice background tunes as well.We ate at many of the local high end expensive restaurants and whilst the setting wasnât as grand the food and service were on par.Exceptional value for money, highly recommended, so worth the effort in locating.Check out their FB Page for more information.

Sharkey's Tropical Cafe is located in St. Lawrence Gap, Christ Church Barbados. We are a 4 Star dining in a relaxed, tropical setting. Casual attire, Caribbean sounds, street-side bar. Super cocktails, friendly people. Open seven days a week for Breakfast
We often stopped at Sharkeys for drinks at the end of the evening, before returning to our hotel. The bar man is a local, white Barbadian, a young guy and great to watch mixing cocktails and stuff. I called him a master at his job. He said âNo, maybe level one on the way to being a âmasterââ. It did not detract from watching bottles, glasses, ice, etc flying through the air as he mixed cocktails for people. We ate here on one occasion. Good food while sat at a trestle table drinking Banks beer from the bottle and watching people walking along The Gap.

We looked forward based n reviews to eat . No lobster ..our first choice ,, then ordered shrimp an marlin platters and coul not get as well. The guys who served us were sweet and I think tried but if we had known when we ordered there was no shrimp we would have moved on sooner . Nathaniel did give us tickets for a rum punch when we return but not keen on return with paucity of fresh fish choices Thank you for your review and sorry to hear that you were not able to get the fish that you wanted. Unfortunately we did not receive our fish order so were very limited that day. This is not normal for us at all and usually can offer more than 3 different types of fish. We hope that one day you are able to sample our food that has received such great reviews.

Stopped for dessert last pm. The st Lawrence waters brush up under balconey for a beautiful view . The cheese plate was a pleasant surprise on the menu. The cheddar was studded with scotch bonnet peppers and while more crumbly than American cheddar it was tasty. The goat cheese with sorrel spread on toast points with a chutney were good as well. The favorite though was blue cheese . Unusual to find such great cheeses in island . We learned today that cheese on board means wow and our stop at castaways proved it . Parking is across the street and just need receipt to show you went to restaurant.

We stopped here for lunch as we passed it a few times and remembered good reviews. It was fine. I asked for chicken strips. I think I got pork. The fries were fresh for sure! "Special" potatoes were just seasoning salt covered. Jerk chicken panini looked good that spouse had. Fairly underwhelming.
