Outstanding hotel
Reviewed By jaimeelsabioSpent our first night of the trip at the Parador. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the Parador is in a great location by the Plaza Mayor. There isn’t much to do in the town so the Parador was a good choice to get over jet-lag. The rooms are basically located around a central courtyard. While rather basic in decoration it fits well with it being the former 17th century convent, Saint Mary of Paradise. There’s a pool and gardens in the back of the Parador. Parador parking in a nearby secured garage was €11, but there are free lots around town. Breakfast was conducted in two shifts to help keep numbers in the restaurant down.

"La Graja", has 8 enchanting rooms, each individually decorated. Through the conservation of the original structure no room is the same as any other. Each room comes complete with bath, television and heating. All the rooms give onto the main gallery with views of the central patio, - the jewel of the house - built with the columns from the old ducal palace. Here one can enjoy a breakfast of fresh fruit and home-made pastries, or a quiet read, a game of cards, whilst soaking in the color of the plants and the rumour of running water. O

Reviewed By johnhouston2Casa Rural and Spa is a lovely hotel. The Satnav found it easily and, by driving past the hotel then coming round the block, we found plenty of free and safe street parking near the Pharmacy. When you enter the hotel through the large, old wooden door you are faced with a charming internal courtyard, and the rooms of the house surround this lovely feature. Check in was friendly and the young man was most helpful re places to see in town. Our room was charming and completely in character with the old building. It was well appointed and very comfortable, and just outside the first floor rooms is another relaxing seating area. Breakfast was a simple buffet with fresh fruit, cold ham and cheese, as well as cereals, toast and cakes. We really enjoyed our stay here. Chinchon is a lovely little town and the Casa Rural and Spa is a perfect base to explore it from. We would certainly stay here again and highly recommend it.

VERY NICE STAY
Reviewed By Terrance MThis is a stylish hotel, scant minutes from the Plaza Mayor. The grande dame after whom the property is named is on the right as you enter. The public areas are well kept. The salon area is every bit as nice as any seen in any parador I stayed in on this trip. The back courtyard area impresses. Staff were efficient. A map was offered. The room was of adequate size. The air conditioning/heating system was simple to operate. Bathroom items were in plastic. There is on site, underground parking for a fee [around eight euros]. The breakfast was fine but the coffee machine was not fully operational. You were given tongs and a plastic glove. Several places around the hotel re hand gel. Hard to believe this is only a three star hotel.

Worth the effort to find !!

It didn't help that half the narrow streets were closed and we went down 2 one way streets the wrong way causing much havoc and horn blowing, but it was well worth finding it. My best tip would be head for the Plaza and park. The hotel is just round the corner on the lower side. Check in and drop off any heavy luggage as the secure parking is off down another street. Beautiful small hotel and really lovely people. We had the suite as it was our anniversary and it was very good value

Surprise, surprise.
Reviewed By lorrainelawrieFor anyone travelling through this area in Spain you will understand how you are out in the middle of nowhere and then suddenly you come across a gem. We wanted accommodation outside Madrid and randomly chose Chinchon without knowing anything about it, all I can say is if you are in this general vicinity then make this a must to visit. The next pleasant surprise was this gorgeous, very Spanish accommodation. Nothing too fancy but the young lady who manages it is very pleasant, even without any English we managed to sort everything out with lots of notes and she was very accommodating. The room was a good size, very clean and had good access. A great place to stay if you are like us and like to avoid the main cities, it is a very simple bus ride into Madrid and saves the stress of driving.

A wonderful weekend in a beautiful restored casa in Chinchón
Reviewed By StephIT83Paul and I just had a wonderful weekend in the small village of Chinchon. We flew from London and arrived at our casa in 40 minutes drive from the airport! If you fly Ryanair there is a great deal for car hire ( 20€ for two days!!) This village is something out of a fairytale and the Carla’s Casa was superb! Incredibly clean and a superb restoration job (you can see photos of before and after) A truly amazing place for a short weekend to get away from it all! P.s. the Plaza Mayor is where The bull scene was filmed from Around the World in 80 days!!!

Comfortable and ideal location
Reviewed By tinnuvialWe stayed in the upstairs, Francisco, apartment while other members of our group stayed downstairs in Maria. The apartment is pretty, very comfortable, well-equipped and close to everything. The beds vary in terms of firmness so there is a bed to suit anybody. Our apartment was on 2 levels and had 2 double bedrooms and a large twin room with a spacious bathroom shared. The second level had a large open area with kitchen, dining area, lounge area and another bathroom. Shower pressure was fantastic. Everything was clean and well stocked. The only thing missing was a kettle if you wanted to make a cip of tea but we just used the coffee maker instead to boil water or we could have done it on the stovetop. I would highly recommend this apartment.

Authentic Spanish experience
Reviewed By Alex BExcellent, spacious and clean room with good bathroom, comfortable bed and large balcony with an amazing view. Staff were very friendly and room was cleaned daily. Very close to square with all of the shops, bars and restaurants but not noisy. Room had air conditioning and we were shown where to park our hire car. Would definitely stay again!
